what about Giambi? 14 homers in one month...his arms and neck are looking a little big again.:conf: I hope for his sake and mine as a Yankees fan, that he's still clean.

Giambi's actually a pretty decent guy when it comes down to it.

I like Giambi. But there is almost no doubt in my mind that he's doing something. Look at how terrible he was last year and early this year. Now, all of a sudden, he's hitting like he did in Oakland.

I am convinced that he found a new undetectable brand of designer steroids. There's no way someone can improve their performance so much like he did under his circumstances.

anyone care to run down a list of players that are significantly smaller this year?

bret boone
sammy sosa
giambi (he admitted to it so no surprise)
ivan rodriguez (he looks like a little kid, they cant call him pudge anymore)
i havent gotten to see thome or helton a lot so i cant really comment on those guys.

and i dont get what your saying about steriods not being illegal? by law they are illegal and i think that trumps MLB rules. they just never tested for them because of the union or at least thats the excuse they gave. the sports guys are reporting that when congress comes back they are going to vote on a bill that would force professional athletes to adhere to the same guidelines as the IOC with the same penalties.

According to BASEBALL rules, it was allowed. Which doesn't matter anyway, because it wasn't tested for. You can look at stats and make your own judgements, but there's no proof.

See what I don't get is why is Palmeiro only suspended for 10 days? I thought Selig was imposing a strict 50-day suspension for steroid abuse? I can't remember if that was a mandate or just a proposal.

I think he was only suggesting it. Any changes to the drug policy has to be agreed upon by the player's union as well as the owner's pupp...I mean commissioner :toothless.

unless congress steps like the rumors suggest :nervous:

did anyone else hear the guy on espn saying that the source that leaked the name of the steriod also suggested that palmeiro and franklin are the first in a long list of players to have their appeals heard. makes it sound like this is going to be a busy month for baseball.

baltimore fires their manager lee mazzilli ..

who didn't see this coming ? .. baltimore is in a very tough situation right now .. being next to the d.c. capital, and in a very tough division with the yankees, red sox, devil rays, and blue jays ..

but everyone knew that sooner or later, baltimore would come back from cloud nine .

at least their cross city counter parts the washington nationals are making some kind of effort to make the playoffs .. and they're also in a tough division with the braves, mets, marlins, and phillies .

who wants to predict the orioles will finish last behind the devil rays when the season ends ? :wtf:
Mebot
yeah i was just about to post that.

wow.

at the rate they're going, they'll be dead last in all of MLB.
