I am Surprised not to see a SINGLE White Sox player on the all-star team, even though they had the best record in majors all year long.
Man, those pesky Nationals are pulling away in the division ...
What about Oakland Athletics - they have really been surprising everyone lately with their surge. Soomeoe here mentioned it earlier .... wow ... if they make the playoffs, I'll be impressed. |

Yeah those pesky Nationals just lost the first game against the Mets today despite being ahead 2-0 for the first 7 innings.
we'll get them the next three days.
And yeah, in addition to no White Sox players, there is no Padre players, despite the fact San Diego has the 3rd best record in the league.
the All Star is just a big ego trip anyways (although if that were true, wouldn't Jeter be on the team?) |

Jake peavy from the Padres made it to the all star team(who should be a cy young winner in the future).
I was kinda surprised that the Mets came back on the Nats today, guess i was right and the Nats overworked bullpen is catching up with them...all star break can't be coming at a better time for them.
Hmm only Garland and Buehrle make it for the white sox...man i guess steals don't mean anything is todays game of baseball...i mean Podsednik only leads the league right? |

garland, buerhle, and konerko all made the team from the white sox. podsednik has a chance to make it with the final vote in by the fans. i doubt he'll make it though since jeter and matsui are both up for it.
as for oakland, the sox can never beat them. i cant be bothered to look up the record but over the last 4 years we've only beaten them like 5 times.
it was nice for the nats to come into chicago and beat up on the cubs. i was shocked to see cordero blow that save against them. and i still can't figure out why teams pitch to d. lee. they should make someone else on the cubs try to beat you.
does anyone else think that kenny rogers should step down from the all-star team to avoid making a huge fiasco out of it? |

you chicago fans must be really nervous right now, trying to decide what to root for ..
the cubs fighting to get a wild card with a probably triple crown winner derek lee ..
or the best-record white sox with hernandex, bruehle, and garland ..
:conf: :conf:
and yes i agree .. hernandez should have been chosen over piazza ..
and also a big congrats to the little guy shea hillenbrand (toronto) stepping away from nomar's shadow, and making it to the all-star game . |

it was bound to happen sooner or later... (the blown save I mean). I guess it's better to have had it happen now, then to blow it later on down the road.
Still Cordero should've optioned for the bonus clause in his contract. Now that he's going to the All-Star game, he's missing out on 50,000. But its not like he knew he was going to have a phenomenal season.
As for Kenny Rogers, yeah i think he should step down and serve his time. although 20 games is a little harsh IMO.. but he did shove that cameraman. I dunno, you'd think that'd warrant a punishment of missing the All Star game.. i guess MLB decided to suspend him 20 games and let him play the all-star game instead. |

Apparently the All Star game is classed as an exhibition so Rogers is not banned from it. Yet, the game decides who gets home field advantage in the World Series, so how can it be classed as just an exhibition? 20 games sounds harsh but the reality is its only 5 or so starts, this way baseball is seen as punishing its players for misconduct just like basketball last season. |

im not confused at all. ive been a white sox fan my whole life so its a no brainer for me. i used to have respect for the cubs but the last couple of years ive grown to hate them. they have virtually no players that they have developed on their own (through their farm system). i cant stand kerry wood (most over rated pitcher in the league) and dusty baker is just an ignorant moron. its ashame what that organization has become after they had quality players like ryne sandburg and mark grace.
im happy that pods got into the all-star game. i think most of the people voting for him were fans that didnt want to see jeter get in. |

LOL ... talking about the farm system. Check out the Braves ... their team is filled with farmhands, and local Atlanta player residents. As strange as it may sound, before this year my Braves have been just like the Cubbies are right now. But when there is no money to resign the big players, as in my case, farmheads take over :D and to my extended surprise, I am quite pleased as to what it is doing to my team right now :D :D :D the hated (by me) Cubbies were swept by the Braves in the 4 game series, including the double-header. I couldn't be more pleased. I hate them because 2 years ago in playoffs their fans were rude and mocked by Braves' tomahawk chant. I hate that disrespectfull attitude. |

:stongue:
trust me, that tomahawk chant gets mocked everywhere :D
one game I went to in 2000, after the mets scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 8th against the braves to come back from a 8-1 deficit, the next inning, just about every fan was doing a mock tomahawk chop with their arms, sticking out their finger and singing to the tune of the chop:
"FUCCCCCCCCK THE BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES, FUCCCCCCCCK THE BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES" |
