I would have expected this from Alabama, but not from Germany:

Childless couple told to try sex
A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.
The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.
Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.
A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".
"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."
The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education. |

when i wake up, i always look at the clock... to see how i feel, if i need to sleep more and then if it's late or not. when i look at the small digits on my stereo system, i always misread it (by like an hour, EVERY time)
so yesterday i set up my alarm clock right opposit of my bed so that i could wake up and look at it without turning my head
this morning i woke up, with sun glaring in my eyes and was like OWWW, looked at the alarm clock and was like "DAMN IT that idea didn't work"
because of the bright sun red numbers aren't too visible
yeah, no point there.. but i did wake up and felt ok, so i got up and it was 7:48 am :p |
do you have blinds or a shade in your room? I hate waking up with the sun shining in my eyes, it has to be dark dark dark! luckily though my room in our apt faces west so I dont get the morning sun in my room :D |

i have blinds, but at about 7 am the sun is shining directly into them.
whenever i want to wake up early, i just leave them open like i did today :p
and they're white too, not black. though even closed they don't help much |

When does a novel become classic literature? How does it become classic? Does it have to have a thematically new theme to present and/or garner an A-list of awards and nominations by critics?
when A Tale of Two Cities , Pride and Prejudice, The Scarlet Letter, Heart of Darkness et al first came out, were they "instant classics"? or did they have to wait for awhile?
I wonder what novels that are being published today will be considered "classic literature" The only modern classic novels in the 20th century i can think of is The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice & Men, The Stranger, The Catcher in The Rye, and Fear of Flying although I dunno if anyone else would considerFear of Flying "classic"
thoughts? |
