lmfao, that would be priceless... just to see star trek dubbed with ghetto phrases... ahaha!
|
Even better than that would be star trek con control de SAP.
SAP is a feature on your TV or VCR that converts SAP supported shows from English into Spanish. Basically it's just one guy who sounds like he's from Cuba dubbing his voice over the original English voices. He even does the women's voices sometimes, so it's hilarious. :stongue: |

-Oh yeah, and what are some good red & white wines?
My cousin's GF is a chef, so I should axe her.
Does anyone else get annoyed when people say, "axed" instead of "asked?" I don't really care too much, but my mom loses her mind for some reason (probably because she's a teacher).:nervous: |

ahaha, i used to laugh at SAP dubbed shows! so hilarious! people speaking in spanish and lip synching! weird.
in ukraine we used to have this free channel which showed movies all day long. the first 20 minutes of each even hour - commercials and then a movie and so on. these movies were pirated - often they'd show them before they were released in the US (of course, there were non-american movies too, but mostly american). i don't know where they got those movies, but i think it went beyond the network - piracy was very big and it's quite big even nowadays - sometimes you don't know whether a cd/dvd/vhs you're buying is licensed or not.
but basically, since these were pirated movies, no one could do proper dubbing - there wasn't any budget. so they had a couple of guys do it, and the guys put clothespins on their noses to distort their voices so that they couldn't be identified.
so in the end we got a bunch of movies that weren't really dubbed - you could hear the english - but had hilarious-sounding voiceovers. the voices were deep-sounding and the guys always used to stretch the words when pronouncing them... so if there was like a dramatic scene, someone's crying, all that jibba jabba, the guy's still doing his funny voice and it's just so awesome!
and sometimes on the screen they would be like " you, you dirty piece of ing " and the translator would pause and then say "go to hell, you...!"
and the mexican soap operas... it's a whole another story... that's a whole cultural inside joke... santa barbara... i believe they're still showing that and when the first election took place in like 1996, all the old people started writing to newspapers, asking if the show would be cancelled if a new president gets elected (it could've happened, btw, tv networks aren't really independent of the government)... soap opera dubbing... ahaha
and now my sister got some cd-rs with a completely redubbed LOTR1 - this guy just changed all the phrases... they still make sense and go with the movie, but they're hilarious... something like "gandalf, you old fart, let's go freaking pimp some chicks" absolutely hilarious! i must watch it... haven't seen any LOTR movies, this is the only reason i'd be willing to watch one.
so yeah.. |

Thanks Boomers for the link to civil union. I guess I am curious; is Vermont the only state that has "civil union" or the only state that has "civil union" allowing same-sex partners to unite?
And I had read that until 2003 in US, married people actually paid higher taxes than did single people. I think in 2003, this marriage "penalty" was removed or "corrected." Maybe on my next study break, I'll do research instead of sending silly messages to people who aren't even available! hehe
Whiskers, I don't know anything about concussions. If you were hit on the head on NYE and you're having dizziness now...maybe you should go to a doctor? Did the nap help?
Okay, I need to study. |
eh I might be talking out of me ass on this one but I think since they are married then they have a dependant, which means you get more money lol. as you can see I never do my own taxes. so good luck finding out.
and doctors are for the weak, I never ever go. In college during a 2 month period I twisted each ankle 3 times, it hurt a bunch and was all swollen up so I could barely walk, but eventually I walked it off :P. And the cool thing is now when I wake up in the morning I can crack my ankles really loud. Its teh coolez.
and dave my favorite wine is Mickey's Ice, it comes in fourty ounce bottles at some local liquor stores. Anyone would be impressed by a bottle of that ;).
Actually I have tried some really good wine out here but we always make fun of the name so I couldn't tell ya. All I know is go to napa valley and test em out. |

Good evening. Sigh, I think I need to make one of those "I like a girl in class, what should I do?" thread. So here's the story, She's a girl in my class, she's 29 im 26, shes hispanic, I'm armenian. Should I just forget about it, because of the age and ethnic difference?
