You can always do the free version - walk across the Ward's Island bridge (pedestrian bridge @ 103rd St).

Beautiful views if you're up for the walk. I think it closes at sundown though, so on the way back you have to find other means.

I heard somewhere that it was the bridge used in The Wiz, but I can't find any confirmation of that now...

A quick glance at a map showed the foot bridge to be further south from the park area- the newly named RFk bridge seems like it save you about 15-20 min walk. Anyway can clarify this?

Yeah.. posted back somewhere that you walk over the RFK instead of the ward's island bridge. Did it both days last year. The pedestrian bridge does not bring you near the park.

Just spoke with customer service. You can get on any boat after what your ticket states so that's good. Going home is gonna be the same as last year. If you have a ticket you get preference and they're gonna have boats coming and going non stop. I remember last year there was a long line for people who didnt get presale tickets so its def worth to buy them beforehand.

I'd actually like to go Sunday but there's no way I can swing $116 on one day just for a ticket. Plus another $60 for transportation and $40-ish for food/water, it would be around $225 for Sunday only.

Some advice.

Stop being poor and get tickets when they first go on sale. Have fun at home :stongue:

There were a couple variables that made me put off buying tickets when they first came out.

I'm not going to go into them on here, but if you were in my situation you would have waited as well.

And I love how people think a worthy justification to high pricing is "you're poor kid". It comes down more to financial choices...this one isn't logical for me anymore at these costs.

so what are peoples plans for getting us this damn island? I was thinking of walking over the bridge to get there- but wondering how crazy it must be when this thing is over and ppl scrambling to get off that damn island lol. Is it worth getting boat tickets, walking or just having exact change and taking the bus back. What seemed best from what ppl saw last year?
