I think VIP is worth it if are only into the music at mainstage or prefer liquor rather than beer. I didn't do VIP myself last year but that's the only difference I saw. |

| damn damn damn- my boy is flaking out for saturday has a wedding to go too- sux- was looking forward to the Dj's on the Sunday School Groove Stage on Saturday. He is down to go on Sunday and it does look like a good lineup on the Sunday School Groove Stage that day as well. Ohh well guess Im just venting I dont want to roll alone- will probably have to do the Sunday thing- ohh well just venting- nothing like partying on a Saturday. |

i hope they announce the line-up for sundays party like they did this year with saturdays party

Special Event Express Buses
Take the 4/5/6 or Metro-North Railroad to 125th St, then take the X80 express Bus on Lexington Ave between 126 and 125 Sts, which runs nonstop to Randall's Island. A $5.50 round-trip fare is collected going to Randall's Island. If you transfer from the subway or bus with your Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard, only $3.25 is deducted. The 7-Day Express Bus Plus is the only Unlimited Ride MetroCard accepted on the X80. For more information, visit www.mta.info.

WALKING
You can walk across the footbridge from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan onto Randall's Island Park during summer daylight hours (6am - 9pm). Pedestrians can also walk across on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from Manhattan, Queens, or the Bronx.
DRIVING
Randall's and Wards Island Park is located under - and accessible via - the RFK Bridge on the East River, between Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. There is a $5.50 bridge toll upon entering but no charge to leave the Island. On entering the park, follow signage for the event and Icahn Stadium for pick-up, drop-off and parking sites.
Parking
There will be a limited number of paid parking spots available . Because space is limited, we encourage you to use public transportation. There is NO OVERNIGHT PARKING and NO TAILGATING allowed on Randall's Island.
From Manhattan
Get on the RFK Bridge at East 125th Street or Exit 18 from FDR Drive (left exit from northbound or right hand exit from southbound Harlem River Drive). Once on the RFK Bridge, E-Z Pass users should stay left for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza. Those paying cash at the toll should stay to the right and take the entrance ramp to Randall's Island Park located about a half-mile past the toll plaza on the right hand side.
From Long Island
Get on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from the Grand Central Parkway. Stay right for the exit to Randall's Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From the Bronx
Take the Major Deegan of Bruckner Expressway to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. Stay right for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From Brooklyn
Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway East to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. Stay right for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From Queens
Get on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from the Grand Central Parkway. Stay right for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From New Jersey
From I-80 or the New Jersey Turnpike, get on the George Washington Bridge. Follow signs for "Through Traffic" (on the upper level, stay to the left, on the lower level, stay to the right) to get onto the Cross Bronx Expressway, then take the Harlem River Drive/Amsterdam Avenue exit. Keep left onto the Harlem River Drive, then stay straight to take FDR Drive South to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. On the Bridge, E-Z Pass users should stay left for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza. Those paying cash at the toll should stay to the right and take the entrance ramp to Randall's Island Park located about a half-mile past the toll plaza on the right hand side.
From Westchester
Take I-87 (New York State Thruway) southbound. I-87 will turn into the Major Deegan Expressway. Follow signs to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, pass through the tollbooth, and stay to the right. Take the exit for Randall's Island.

By air
Airports closest to the festival are:
* Newark International (airport code: EWR)
* John F. Kennedy (aiport code: JFK)
* LaGuardia (airport code: LGA)
By train
New Jersey Transit, Amtrak, Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and Metro North have trains in and out of New York City on a daily basis.
New York train terminals are:
* Pennsylvania Station (often referred to as PENN station) is located in the heart of midtown Manhattan - LIRR, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit
* Grand Central Station - Metro North
* Harlem 125th street (closest to the festival) - Metro North
By bus
The BOLT bus travels from Baltimore, Boston, Cherry Hill, Philadelphia and Washington DC to several New York City locations on a daily basis. Check out www.boltbus.com for more details

supposedly itll be a bit different this year including more dance room right in front of the stage like many other festivals do it |
