If you take the Airtrain from your terminal at EWR to the NJ Transit hub, just grab either the Northeast Corridor (Red) Line or the Coast Line (Blue) heading eastbound and you will be at Penn Station in no time flat.

Easier, faster than the train is the Coach USA bus shuttle to the port authority bus terminal. That puts you on 42nd on the West side with plenty of cab and subway access to get you to your final destination.

all right, i'm pretty much set on going. now to buy tickets and find airfare. hotel is simple, as i have my normal hostel i stay at and it's like $55 a night in manhattan.

edit,

airfare booked....flying into EWR this time. 3rd time coming to NYC, and 3rd different airport. awesome. anyone know the best way to get to penn station in manhattan from EWR? pretty much figured it out on google; want to make sure i'm doing this right....NJTransit to the amtrak station, and then amtrak over to penn station, amiright? my hostel is like 1 mile from there, lexington & 37th.

personally I like the bus that picks you up at the airport terminals every 20 minutes and brings you straight to Port Authority. Took me 20 minutes last time and didnt have to worry about transferring, as its a direct route.

The PA also has a lot more options for subway lines, so its more convenient in my case, to gave access to most of the subway lines to get to where I am going. To each his own though :)

Edit: dont take this route during rush hour, though. It will probably take more like 45 minutes if you get caught in traffic.

NJ transit from the airport should take you right into Penn Station, you will not even see/board an Amtrak train. Next stop after the airport I think is Secacus, then right into Penn station mate

Agreed on pretty much all accounts. I think they are just going for a more diverse lineup this year.

Last year's lineup was just SO stacked with djs that our little niche wanted to see...almost too stacked really. I remember at one point during the second day last year, I REALLY wanted to see 3 guys who were all playing at the same time, but it was just impossible. There was just so much crossover (musically) from tent to tent last year, that people had to spread themselves kind of thin and did a lot of walking.

This year it looks like we'll get to see a lot of great acts that we all want to see, but also some less familiar acts that probably draw different crowds. Not a bad thing, imo. I have been listening to stuff by some of the guys listed that I wasn't that familiar with...Flying Lotus, Aeroplane, etc...all really good stuff.

Just got my final select letter and swore into the Navy today. I have to report to OCS in Rhode Island on September 12th, which is perfect timing to squeeze EZ into my trip on the way up to RI. So looks like I'll see you all there!
