yup. The only DJ that actually stayed for more than a quick walk-through was Menno, but he always chills with people ;)
My opinion on VIP: DONT get it: waste of money!!
I had a few issues with VIP.
1. VIP was only at the mainstage. If you wanted to hear anything besides Guetta, Armin, Deadmau5, etc.....then it would be a total waste. (ie: if you are going for techno, DEFINITELY dont do it)
2. there were 4-5 bathrooms. They got soo nasty half way through the day because of higher traffic. And, the lines were long during the big names. Because they had a ton of GA toilets, it was easier to leave and come back (which, defeats one of the purposes of buying VIP for the "private" bathrooms).
3. Couldnt take alcohol out of the VIP. One of the advantages of having VIP is the option to buy liquor. However, if you want to leave the mainstage, you have to drink your drink first. If you are trying to enjoy music at another tent, you would have to continue to leave the music you desired at said tent, trek all the way to the mainstage, buy the drink, DRINK the drink (all while probably listening to music you didnt want to hear anyways), then trek back to your tent of choice. Of course, you would have to repeat this adventure everytime you wanted a drink. Not having a drink to enjoy leisurely while enjoying your music of choice is ANNOYING!!
4. Yes the VIP is near the DJ interviews, but most of them strolled through and didnt hang out for much longer than a picture or two (if at all!). Its kinda like the end of a night at a club. They stay, pose, say hi, then peace out. They all hung out backstage, which, VIP doesnt have access to.
The advantages of VIP:
Bleachers/seats to sit, and option to buy alcohol. I would say that it has more room, except for the fact that during Ferry last year I was getting mosh-pitted. It was just as packed at night for Ferry, as it was the day before for Armin in the GA. |
I will re-quote this, just so that everyone can once again understand why even spending $30 on VIP is a huge waste of time.....and to hear thats its $185 is insano braino. :whip: |

This is what happens when you guys support Made Event and give them $130 before the EZ lineup is announced or spend $90 on ASOT 450 tickets a couple weeks before the show.
When Made Event sees that people are willing to pay ridiculous prices for tickets they keep doing it. They have no reason to stop doing this right now because you guys keep lining up for more.
The only message you can send is to not buy the tickets, but that's already a failed initiative for this year since most of you bought EZ tickets already.
I guess we'll have to wait until next year... |

Last year, the bathrooms and couches for a disco nap after Heidi's set were worth it alone. This year, meh. I will bring a massive comfy blanket for people to chill on like a friend did last year. |

i get what your saying about the prices with ez and asot and how nyc events are more expensive then other placed i wont argue with you there
but me and everyone i know who went last year had no problem paying for the general admission cause the festival was wayyyy worth it
my advice: do general admission, check out all the dj's you want to see, enjoy the day and the people, consume massive amounts of booze before you get there :p |

I'm not saying I can't afford the tickets or anyone else can't afford them.
It's just that the best way to avoid getting ripped off is to make a note of when you are getting ripped off and don't go through the same actions in the future that put you in that place to begin with.
So if you don't like the EZ VIP prices this year or the ticket prices in general, and you already bought a ticket, don't buy one next year and see what happens.
Complaining and then buying the ticket doesn't help the cause at all. |

Whatever. Go ahead and buy the $185 upgrade.
But next year if the prices are the same or higher, I don't want to see you whining. |

i agree with some people about the overpricing, but it... it's NYC; what do you expect?
it used to be $20 to get in to Twilo when PVD was there over 12 years ago; and people were freaking out about the price, but still paid it, none the less.
you wanna party in the best city in the world, you're gonna have to suck it up and pay.
VIP... hang with the masses! |

No , you seem to be arguing to argue. Quoting aystar out of everyone else here, lmao, he wouldn't pay for VIP unless he would get to see Tiesto give Burak a lap dance. There is no doubt that a lot more people will be doing VIP this year but it won't be the same group as last year who enjoyed it for a hundred less. |

ummm iam not complaining at all,and i never did...
iam pretty happy and lookin foward to the festival
but i dont understand what you mean by boycott the event and dont buy tickets? imo that makes no sense people want to party
i dont think the general admission price is bad at all,i had a great time last year and will have one again
i didnt do vip last year cause it seemed kinda shaddy and i wanted to see a review of it, if it was good i would have done it this year
but since it sucked last year from most peoples point of view plus this new crazy price i deff ant doing it
so yea i mentioned some advice before and iam sticking to it
pretty much stay in the crowd and enjoy the day
fuk vip
if you still have a problem then i dunno what to tell you |
