Is Trance this popular in NYC in general, or is it mostly a TA thing? I'm a little surprised to be honest. This line-up is excellent, it caters to most tastes and is really well balanced in terms of the talent it delivers. There are very few names on there aren't some kind of leader in their respective genres. What Made is putting together looks to me like a festival focused on diversity and covering all facets of EDM. It's an Electronic Music Festival, not a Trance Music Festival. If that's a problem then you can't fault Made and EZ, you're simply looking for something else.
Hell I'd even say Trance has the most representation in terms of who they've packaged as headliners. It's not like they're short changing Trance fans. Correct me if I'm wrong but PVD, ATB, Above & Beyond & Armin are among the top 10 of Trance DJs, right? I don't think you'd be hearing Techno fans complaining if this line-up consisted of Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath and Adam Beyer (Ok, someone other than Beyer might be a better fit there but my techno tastes veer more towards the Villalobos', Hawtins and Vaths of the world, I couldn't think of another like that of their caliber/recognition). |

I really wanted ferry back. I think he did the best last year out of the trance guys... But I'll take A&B :)
Also diggerz Essential mix is the hotness.... so with those 2 I am leaning on Sunday more.

All the big guys are popular - of course. They also have the #1 curse (kinda like the Madden curse.. anyone on the cover of the games ends up sucking - big time):stongue:
I just think some ppl want smaller names too. But i guess the BIG dj's will draw in the crowds so that's why MADE can bring in lesser knowns in other genres.
But I wouldn't compare the top 10 trance with the top 10 techno because 1 is a popularity contest the other is based on music and sooome pop |
