Lynch by himself is all right, but I think having someone to balance him out (Mark Frost) was what made Twin Peaks work. If the network had left them alone, it would have been much better. I don't see how you get the "insulted the viewer" part. It was largely based on anticipation rather than delivery, which any decent suspense writer will tell you is the key to making it work. Like anything, it was better to see it in the context of its own time period, but I watched it recently again and still love it. Bob is the scariest character ever shown on network television, and he'd give most others a run for their money. |

I actually enjoyed the show, believe it or not (mostly for the humour). But I found the about-face mystical stuff a little hard to swallow. And yeah, I get that watching it in the 90s would’ve been different. only watched it properly for the first time in about 2006. |

| Went trough seasons 5, 6 and 7 of The West Wing recently. Only saw 1-4 previously and i must say its not that bad...actually i quite enjoyed it. Not as good as the first 4 seasons but still a nice watch. Loved John Spencer, such a shame he died while doing this. |

The problem was that people kept telling me that the series went seriously downhill after Sorkin left after season 4 so i never bothered to check what came after. Now im glad i did because it was still great, even if a bit depressing.
Also having nothing better to do, thought i might start watching NCIS and its...well unwatchable. Granted im only 4 episodes in so i give it a chance with a few more episodes but its getting worse with each episode i watch...the 4th one especially was dreadful...people playing MMORPGs on the computers in the operations room of a navy battleship, the geek goth girl speaking all kinds of geek lingo that sounds like something a gamer could say but actually makes no sense at all, the irritating female agent firmly defending the position that the dead guy could not have committed suicide not based on any evidence but because he was a catholic and they dont do that...its almost as if the writers wanted us to hate every single person in the cast...i dont know how this lasted 7 seasons. |

that goth chick is so annoying in the show. i can't tell if it's just that she's a bad actor...or the script is terrible. but yeah that show is pretty bad. |

I’ve never been able to get into all the various cops & legal shows other than law & order. I love the social commentary. Have you seen the wire? Now that’s brilliant too. |
