Yeah, they completely wimped out on making dexter a real serial killer that we are attracted to despite him actually being twisted and evil. They had to make him a “good” serial killer in order to make it more palatable to US audiences. At no time during the first 3 seasons I watched did I see the supposed darkness of the show (one of the reasons, imo, that it has reached such mainstream acceptance).

The Christmas special 'A Very Sunny Christmas' was released on the season 5 DVD, but it was also broadcast on TV at the end of season 6.
Ideally, at which of these points should it be watched? Or does it not matter in the slightest?

I've finished the first episode...... and yeah, the corny acting it truly awful. However, the storyline has some potential to be entertaining/interesting, so I'll give the show a couple more watches before I dismiss it for good....
