The Television Show Recommendation Thread (pg. 6)

Spartacus: Blood and Sand. One of the greatest tv series i've ever seen. It's pretty average and you're sitting there thinking you know whats coming next up until about episode 9 or 10 or something then you're like holy . Never had my jaw drop from a tv series before.

For some comedy, try the inbetweeners...many lols from that show. For something similar with a little less funny, but still interesting, try skins season 1. Both british, but i'm surprised at how good they are.

Also i'm watching Stargate Universe, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except a stargate fan. I can see what they're trying to do with all the folk songs and slow motion video montages, but they have to be careful they don't overdo it. Putting "Moby - Natural Blues" over clips of people laying in bed or crying or laying in bed and crying doesn't make your show genius.

Watched half of the first ep of Spartacus last night... turned it off because of the high cheese factor. Mostly .

+1 on the following:
30 Rock
Arrested Development
Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad
Californication
Carnivale
Dollhouse
Eastbound and Down
Family Guy
Firefly
Food Party
In Living Color
Leverage
Lie to Me
Lost
Mad Men
Pushing Daisies
Southland
Southpark
Star Trek TNG
Supernatural
The Inbetweeners
The Venture Brothers
True Blood
Weeds

I enjoy most of those shows equally, but Battlestar Galactica is probably my favorite. Just finished the 3rd season... quality.

Yeah, I understand that to be true of a lot of shows... sometimes takes time for the show to find its rhythm. Maybe I'll give it another go at a later date. Thx.
