Everyone said the X-Files gets worse as the seasons go... I really must disagree. I'm on the one in Season 8 where they're in the Boston Subway, it's ing great. And the Sin-Eater episode previously was also excellent. |
I agree with you. The series held my interest all the way through. Although I must admit I skipped some of the lame spoof-episodes.
It's a shame "I Want To Believe" flopped the way it did tho. Wasn't a bad movie imo, but I guess most ppl expected the Alien-theme, like the series is mostly known for.
Currently I watch:
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory
Community
South Park
Modern Family
Traffic Light
Looking forward to more Archer and Californication as well. Although I felt like Californication ended quite well in the season finale. Don't see the need for a new season, which basically seems like a rehash of the 2nd season. Interesting to see how Hank will interact with the hip-hop/rap culture tho :)
Gonna start with IT Crowd soon. Maybe Game of Thrones as well.
Also it's time I watched Twin Peaks and Twilight Zone. |

Loving it. Much better production quality than it seemed like in the trailers. |
Seriously?
I'm three episodes in and about to give up. The story really isn't hard to follow (nor is it really very good so far) but the acting is terrible in places. Beaney's just about holding it together. |

Whose acting is bothering you? o.o
Everyone is ing perfect, imo. Loving the show. Only thing that bothers me a little bit is that it isn't as epic as the books, but that's understandable since they don't really have the budget to do that. |

Wow. I feel like I'm watching a different show.
The(bottle) blond girl does nothing than look constantly scared or get nailed form behind, her warrior bloke is a ing joke (eye shadow much?) just walks around posing an grunting, her brother is so wooden I thought he had been replaced by a chair in most of his scenes. The kids are OK, but there's not much range to be had and as I said Bean is doing an OK job but it's nothing he hasn't done better in other films. Lena Headey is doing OK but can't help feeling she's been miscast.
IDK, Maybe it's the script or the endless filler they keep padding it out with that doesn't give the cast much to work with but at best it's average acting on the whole. The only person I see standing out so far is the dwarf, but that's going to get old pretty soon.
I think one thing I'm struggling with (weirdly) is the hair and makeup - it all looks wrong to the point it bothers me. It's all so overdone.
oh, actually, I lie; the wolves have acted quite well so far. |

| Ummm...that's not their acting. That's the characters they are portraying. If your brief is to be a virtually mute warlord, then that's what you are. You don't go around trying to win an Emmy. |

I reckon the kids are the best actors on the show so far! haha
but yeah, like fledz said, sounds like you're annoyed more with the characters themselves (writers and directors fault) than the acting-- Its an epic storyline, which means it takes a long time to build, and there really are a lot of characters, and an ass-load of background, which is what you seem to be taking as 'filler'-- All the filler becomes important later on- It's just setting the scene for now... :)
The series isn't meant to be one dimensional action etc, give it a bit of time and I'm betting it'll pay off-- :)
If anything, wait till the season finishes, then watch it in one go. I Usually do that for 'drama' type stuff anyway, because background information (though important) is sometimes pretty boring to watch when it doesn't even matter for another few shows (weeks if you're watching it as it airs) |

| Holy I thought last weeks Game of Thrones was great, but this week was amazing. Definitely stepping it up. And according to reviewers, next weeks is even better. I can't wait for it. |
