i'm giving this a chance. i will give a good answer about this show after the first 5 episodes most likely.

what did you think about the pilot?
it was OK by me. i don't see this as a show that i'll be waiting impatiently for every weekend tho.
the rich kid seems way too easy to hate, and the friend with the bloody nose? interesting...
the male detective is pretty ridiculous. i'm less interested in finding the murderer and more interested in watching him do some retarded

it felt OK to me too. i'm not going to spoil myself by reading the synopsis of the original show from Sweden, which i do see it is doing well, and got signed for a 3rd season. i had this same feeling about 'Flash Forward'. gave it a chance for a couple of episodes, then fell out of favor and stopped watching. i heard the last couple of episodes to close out the series was very good. i'll catch it sometime later.

I know. I was really happy with AFFC, but I wanted to know what was happening with Arya (and Daenerys). She's one of my favorite characters (along with Daenerys, Tyrion, Bronn, Thoros, and many others :p), and I'm fascinated by The Faceless Men. Definitely looking forward to this book. Damn him for being a perfectionist, though.

Everybody loves Arya :D Also, cant wait to hear more about Bran and Rickon, and while shes not one of my favs, i really want to find up what happened to Brienne. Damn you George for your cliffhangers!

EDIT:

Yay, HBo is being good to us :D First 14 minutes from the first ep :D

Oh man, just watched the first episode. ing fantastic, in my opinion. Excellent acting, great costumes, fantastic sets and amazing cinematography. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the season. I just streamed it online, but going to be ordering HBO again sometime this week so I can watch it when it premiers in HD.

Obviously a couple little things were different, some lines gone, some lines added, one or two little scenes added, several scenes taken away, etc, etc, but I doubt I would have noticed much of it except for the additional little scenes, except that I've been re-reading the books in the last month. It's definitely Game of Thrones and it's excellent. Can't wait for next week!

I totally called how the episode was going to end, though, down to the last line :p

I definitely thought it looked and felt like the books (or the first one at least hehe), and the characters seem well cast in terms of how they look. Not sure about the acting just yet though.

Tyrion's accent was a bit much, but I thought the rest did an excellent job, especially the kids, which is impressive. The thing is, though, that all of them came across just like the characters in the book. I wanted to smack Viserys and Joffrey and the latter didn't even have any lines in this episode. Jamie, Ned, the kids, everyone came off perfectly, in my opinion. Tyrion came off like the character, too, his accent is just a bit meh.

Well, you’d know better than me. I just thought everyone looked/spoke/felt a bit stiff. But im sure they’ll improve (if im right) or ill get used to it (if im wrong). I hope we get to see a lot more of daenyrus’ (sp?) .

FFUUU gotta get it.

Hopefully the story will carry it, even if the acting is -- I really hate acting, but it CAN be bearable if everything else is alright (and It looks like it will be...)

I loved it!

Ok, so the pace feels a bit fast, but otherwise i loved it. If only they made a full 24 episode season out of it, it would have been so much more epic!

Really happy w/ Netflix's television show selection.

Like 5 seasons of Roseanne
All the X-Files
