It's a tough call. I absolutely LOVE B5, but in terms of comparison, it's tricky. B5 was better with some things, BSG was better with others. Both are awesome :D |

babylon 5 had the better plot arc, better spaceship designs, much more interesting 'bad' guys.
BSG is much, much edgier, better effects & props, much better camera work and sound design, better acting and more thoughtful social commentary.
they both have an awful amount in common though. BSG is just the newer, fresher version with shinier paint and less cheese. |

^^ Well put.
I do love the cheese though, I can't help it :p
And Londo is the best sci-fi character ever. Ever. |

| you've heard one of my mixes, could never criticise someone else's cheese! and really, B5 is only cheesier because it was made a decade earlier and on a smaller budget. B5 paved the way for tv shows everywhere! |

| the other thing about B5 that makes it so extraordinary is JMS wrote 92 of the 110 episodes, all 5 movies, & the pilot. that's ing epic. |

Which is only one o the reasons why B5 is one of the best scifi shows out there. Seriously, if i wasnt against all religions i would build a temple to B5, it is that awesome.
On an unrelaed matter, i dont think i said enough just how much i lovee Chuck.

that's the spirit!! imo the pilot, series 1, and maybe the first half of series 2 are all very sharp. executives start meddling later on and you can see the series suffer for it, but you can't have everything!
its pretty much the yardstick for future scifi on tv. |

| Season 4 was kick-ass though, despite feeling a little rushed. |

| yeah, 4 was a marked improvement on most of 3. but still not as consistently strong as pilot=>season 2 imo. i cant give particulars obviously with EgosXII in the thread. |
