Yes there’s some poor acting but often its satirical (not the acting, just the types of characters being portrayed).
Its on tv because its awesome. |

The characters are funny clichés and the acting aint fantastic (its nowhere near as clever as buffy) but the show is still pretty awesome because the plot is fun. Its no BSG, but what is!! |

yeah sorry trueblood makes me want to gouge my ears and eyes out. Horrid, and dissapointing coming from Alan Ball, who is usually great.
I just watched this show: Bored to Death... One season (8 eps) done so far, it's kinda pretentious and wanky, but it's about a writer whose struggling to write his second novel (and failing) and his group of equally flacid "artistic" friends, so it's kind of meant to be, and it definitely also pokes fun at the pretentious nature of them all...
great cast: Jason schwartzmen, Ted Danson (who is ing awesome, suprisingly!), and that dude with a beard from the hangover whose great also... :)
RECOMMEND!
also, got the first season of BSG, considering watching it soon :) |

haha. I give speculative fiction a little more leeway than I do most other genres, because it needs it but also because the standards of the genre are rarely that high. But no no, love me my true blood.

yeah I really like sci-fi and fantasy, it was mostly casting, and writing i think... Sookie reallly really REALLLLLLLLY makes me want to kill someone, or myself (or both). She is ing horrible... the actress and the role. Such a actor, and such a , pathetic whiny biatch.
I like sci-fi etc when it puts real characters in surreal environments (lets people explore real human nature outside of the 'oh noes, i hit my toe on the door and it hurt'), but i really cannot get into true blood. I don't understand how ball went from the one of the greatest shows of all time to this (which is probably why i dislike it more than just any crap show :p )...
oh and , i DID forget about the mini-series! thanks! :) |
