I can't reply to this because MY ING HEAD EXPLODED!!! Come on, for heaven's sake, how can they be so predicable?! I don't want to rant more about a show that surely has it's qualities, but that is one of the worst sins in movie-making.
I mean they could at least try to spice it up a bit. Like tell the whole episode from the point of view of the Galactica crew to keep people guessing what happened to product placement girl. You know, that's one of the things I liked about ep. 1, you just weren't given certain information, like the characters you had to form an opinion yourself.
Or how about just killing her. Seriously, kill a main character in a meaningless fight early on. It will shock people out of their pants. And whenever there is another meaningless fight they will their pants because all the beloved main characters are now vulnerable. That crazy bastard of a writer / director might just kill another one for no reason. All the action in movies feels so lame because you just know it can never harm the hero. Prove otherwise and you have the most exciting show on TV. |

I completely agree with everything you’ve said here, other than the product placement girl part. I think it’s quite obvious #6 is product placement girl. There are plenty of characters that get snuffed out in BSG. Probably not enough of them for you (or me) but its there. |
