Sometimes...but not very often...I actually take a few minutes to read what some of you argue about.
Then I wonder, why have I been on TA for 11 years?
then I wonder what's on TV. |

I just don't quite understand this kind of mentality. What difference does it make where people "met"? Given what a social place the internet has become, along with TA being a place of mutually shared interests (like music) for most of us here, it seems like a pretty normal thing these days.
Do you think dating sites are weird too? I've never tried one, obviously, but I know a few people that have met on them, and they all seem pretty happy :conf: I think Slylee met her husband on a dating site? |

My cousin who just got married met her husband on a dating site.
Jenny is just a social conservative... I bet she hates abortions and gays, except abortions of gays, but that can't work cause she doesn't believe people are born gay.
YOU ARE SUCH A NAZI JENNY GAWD... |

I dunno, that's not really what I meant :p Not sure I'd describe Jenny as "conservative" either. I guess I just don't really get the sort of thing she was talking about.
Unless she's just giving Hal because it's the COR :o |

This.
I've become good friends with people who used to be just acquaintances on Facebook because, on the internet, it's easier to know what each one of us is up to - what makes us tick and the like. It's just like meeting people in yoga classes, trendy cafes, and abandoned library restroom stalls. Affinity brings people together, and the internet just makes it easier to find your potential soulmate.
As for the newlyweds, they're both among the brightest TA's, and there's absolutely nothing about them that should raise red flags or anything of this sort. Hell, if I weren't committed myself, I'm pretty sure I'd marry Hal in a heartbeat :D |
