hahahaha, is that blind yoga, or interpretive dance?
Either way, it looks like they're trying to reenact a particularly artsy Kate Bush video, and I'm just in it. |

I think Stu has the same if you are talking about the Canon.
I'd love a 300mm prime but I don't think I'd ever use it enough. Actually if I got into train photography seriously I could see myself using 300mm even up to 500mm because there are a lot of vantage points that you really need that reach to get good detail and composition in the mountains. You can see like 5 miles of track but you are like 2 miles away and 1500 feet above them.
Right now I need to replace my 50mm prime (seriously, I think everyone needs a 50mm prime, it forces you to do so much more and they usually fast and cheap, like... nm lol, bad joke) and I want something wider than my 24-105. I want my 17-70 back from Jake but it is EF-S and I am too much in love with full frame sensors to invest in any EF-S lenses.
Also anyone think its a crock that they market EF-S lenses with the effective focal length in 35mm/full frame still? At least I am 99% sure that they do. That 17mm was probably closer to 20-22mm effective. |
I'm pretty sure Stu has the one you can beat someone to death with. Mine is a cheapo Nikon 70-300mm zoom lens and it won't autofocus on my camera as it only supports AF-S lenses. And it has horrible colour aberration so I only shoot black and white with it. Its only useful purpose is ninja mode really. |

No it wouldn't. He's be a paid photographer doing his job instead of a creepy dude standing by the dj booth taking pictures of complete strangers. |
Go to get job as paid party photographer

lol nikon...
I cant remember if Stu has the f/4 or the f/2.8... Eitherway, amazing lens... Those birds never know he is so close to them, stroking their feathers, whispering sweet nothing into their ear canals. |

everytime ive used a nikon ive gotten a bit jealous. If i didnt have so much money already invested into canon lenses i would have switched back in 2007. Everytime ive held one it has felt perfect in my hands and i prefer the colors from nikon.
oh well, it would cost way too much to switch now |

| I really don't think there's a difference between Nikon and Canon on the high end, and I like Nikon and will be sticking with them when I go full format |

We used a D1X D3X in our studio when I was working and the main photographer used it every day but was still a Canon guy in his free time. I mean really I have nothing against Nikon, but I still prefer Canon (but yea, the investment helps my liking haha).
*edit*
Stupid naming conventions, confused Canon 1D with the D1X lol. |
