| Bottom line being, congrats. Only three weeks on hormones and you have already picked up the uncanny female ability to take offence at the slightest sign of a poorly phrased comment. Already on your period then? |

no offense dude but i trim my fingernails due to hygiene. I dont change hairstyles because I feel like a long haired man or a short haired man that day. I do it to attract the opposite sex haha. |
i attract the same and the opposite sex, and when I do, I already know they're going to be into me for who I am, because I put myself out there honestly and confidently. Works pretty well for me.

deforming his body to make it look as ed up as HE feels in his mind?
Sorry dude, inside i feel like an angry black man. But I am Eric and thats who I am going to be. |
see, i disagree.. i think there are circumstances where you can be born that way, similar to how some people are born with both sets of genitalia. Maybe it's a chemical imbalance in the brain where your body is male but your brain says it's female? I'm obviously no expert in this field, but i wouldn't say it's impossible. I don't think avana has decided she 'wants' to be female, i think she's always felt she 'was' female, but went along with being male since that's the body she was born with and how she was raised to be. Once again, i'm no expert, but if what i said is possible, put yourself in her shoes, how would you feel? I guess this is not really directed to you eric but it was related.. I think avana has been very patient with all of us considering this is her life and it is a pretty big deal. the difference with psy-t was he likes to dress up as a women... he doesn't feel he is a women, so i can see how it could be more lighthearted for him seeing as this was more a sexual preference not so much a lifestyle. i could be totally wrong, just speculating here. |

or worked out to build muscle mass perhaps?
|
I work out to stay in shape. I work out to become stronger and quicker in sports. I dont do it because I think I am a muscle man in my head. and workign out is alot different then taking hormones in order to change your sexuality.
Im just saying instead of changing your body to match how you think you feel. Maybe, You should try to man the up and accept the hand you were dealt in life. |

well, i did appreciate it, but wasn't sure how to respond to the self deprecating part of it! all i have to say is you should have seen me a day earlier. damn laser hair removal takes forever :( |
Hahaha, ah yes the joys of being a woman: hair removal.
You know what IS awesome about being TG (imo)? You don't menstruate. You must be glad you don't ever have to deal with that !
I think you're onto something here. . |

I don't mind, it's just that being a member of the TG community, I know that a huge amount of us don't prostitute or make porn. Not even close to a majority.
So beyond being a huge leap (possibly tinged with trans-misogyny), it's also just a logical fallacy (and with no source). |
I didn't mean to suggest a majority of transgendered persons were involved in these industries; rather, just a larger percentage then in the general population. I'm sure you'll agree with that at least... think of all the people you know and how many of them are or have been in these industries... now focus exclusively on the transgendered people you know and ask the same... I'm fairly certain it's a higher number; it certainly is for me.
BTW, I take objection to your suggestion that I have a negative bias in this regard. |

Maybe, but I'm saying either way it's not OK to assume that about everyone, just like it isn't OK to be like "LOL i didn't know you're black does this mean you're eating chicken right now instead of paying for your illegitimate kid's child support?"
I will say that among those I know who have done it, it's either out of desperation, because they can't get/keep a job due to discrimination or emotional or family stability, or because they feel it gives them acceptance/validation, makes them feel good, or they think that it's what society wants for them (however sick that is), and in both cases it's a result of transgender people trying to deal with society. I imagine a handful of them do genuinely like it though. Education both among the gen pop and the tg community I think will eventually reduce the proportion of our fallen sisters.

Ok, I don't know you.. most people who make this allegation have negative motives. |

Sadly I cannot find reliable statistics on how many prostitutes or porn actresses are transgendered (those industries aren't exactly the best documented) but at .25%-1% of the total population one can easilly observe that in any major city transgendered persons make up more then .25%-1% of the sextrade. Again, I'm not saying that one should like the two but I can see why one would. I'm also not trying to minimize any offence you may have taken at Lira's comments; you're completely justified in that.
Perhaps we should not discuss that further, as for you it is understandably personal whereas I'm just looking at numbers and perceptions. |
I would believe my horoscope more than your easy observation. Without a clue of N (or n for that matter), you are just stating your feelings. |

no see i think you are being a about it. Why do you have to change anythning physically you were given to match anyway you feel? just be you. Be a feminine man. You dont have to be a chick just because you feel feminine on the inside. I think its easier to take a pill to change your body into the way you feel, rather then just accepting that you were given a mans body but feel more feminine then the average dude. Thats what I mean by man the up. You were given a unique situation..live with it. |
