Yup, he's a House Sparrow.
It's such a pain taking care of him. I had to feed him every 20-30 min when I found him on a 12 hour cycle. Right now it's about every hour, hour and a half. It's definitely a commitment. If I found another bird I'd let nature take it's course... Probably not, I couldn't let a baby bird die, but I'd seriously consider it lol.
This is what he'll look like in a few weeks... It's a very common bird, some may consider them pests but I've always liked em.

| it was nice of you to take him under your wing. make him a hot bath with salt and pepper. He should be well (done) in no time. |

I don't even know if it's male or female yet. Have to wait till all it's feathers come in. I'm hoping it's a male so I can still call him McFly lol.
Male Sparrows have a black bib on or under their neck like the pic above, females don't.

Nah, I found him July 28th. I'm guessing he was only a day or two old, so he's only about 17 days old. Yeah, they grow fast! He probably wont be able to fly for another 3-4 weeks, I think.
Everyone's saying I should be a veterinarian cause apparently birds taking in at that age perish 90-95% of the time. It really didn't seem too difficult, shove food in it's mouth whenever it begs and it grows lol. |

Thanks. I think he might be a little retarded, lol. He doesn't eat right. Naturally what happens is they chug the food and take breaths in between. I put food in its mouth and it sits there like a retard until it slowly spreads and he chokes on it, forcing him to swallow.
And he runs backwards in circles.:stongue:
It's so frustrating in the mornings sitting there waiting for him to swallow food, it takes forever.:whip: THEN after eating barely nothing he'll refuse to open up and I say it and 5 minutes later he's begging. It's non stop with this little . He's sassy, he s with me on purpose. 17 days old and already he's a ****.
lol don't hand raise birds.
