Is satellite really worth it? Half the time I am on either the local NPR affiliate or when I am in the puget sound area at least, the publicly funded dance music station.
Satellite always seemed sorta like the music channels on TV, sorta banal and generic, at least when I'd around with it in my dads car (and he never renewed his free subscription from when he bought the car). |

and what kind of music do you think plays on montana radio. fyi sandstorm played on the local "pop" station on my way home tonight, yes satellite may be mostly generic but at least i get some variety and its not the same 20 songs each station here plays over and over and over with a random one thrown in once a day.
im usually on the classic rock stations because its what i grew up listening to, the electronic stations SOMETIMES have something decent on but i rarely visit them. basically i get the chance for my music selection to be about as ADD as my brain. if i dont like a song playing on one station i just move to a different one! yeah the modern stuff is pretty generic (so is any local station though) but that also not what im listening to on it. so many genres sometimes i cant decide what i want to listen to so a lot of times i just pick a random number, go to that station and give it a shot.
even in denver my satellite had better selection then the local stations |

True.
Actually I am dreading spending 2 weeks in the high desert starting next week cause of the radio. Ugh... Spanish, Christian fundamentalists, Spanish, Spanish, Spanish Christian Fundamentalists, Country, Country, Country, Country, Horrible generic pop, horrible generic rock, oldies, Christian.
Even the NPR station there is a classical station that just has NPR/PRI shows like maybe once a day. :(
Oh well, Oakenfold's Essential Mix World Tour '99 over and over and over again for me, haha. |

| I love Sirius. Anything but banal and generic. There are also great talk radio stations and comedy. |

| People still listen to the radio? |

| Satellite radio, yeah. The only thing worth listening to on FM is the CBC. Honestly, such good talk programs on Radio 1. :p |

Crap so many lenses I want to buy... :@
Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 is making me want it...
I don't know. Crap. It's $500 compared to $200 for the 40mm STM, but it's faster and wider (though i have 24 zoom... but it's slow at f/4).
Argh. If I get the 28 I think I'd need to rent one first to check it out. |

| Mmmm, prime lenses. |

Yea I am really missing having a prime in my bag.
They are just so much better image quality wise, even the non-L glass.
I find myself only shooting like a few different zooms on my zoom lens most of the time. I think I'd be better off with a prime at 24, a prime at 50, a prime in the 100 range, and a 200 or 300 prime. |

I have the 100mm f2.8, and it's ridiculously sharp, even for a non-L. And the 300L f4 is my birding lens. I never use my nifty 50, lol. Like ever. |
