I like her voice. No, she's certainly no Attenborough, but w/e. |

rome is not expensive.
i went to that place with minimal planning and about 500 euros and managed to fully enjoy and love a week long stay and dominated rome.
dont rent an apartment in any district (well that might be good but be prepared to probably get swindled its very risky)
i stayed at some hotel thats pretty much in the ghetto a bit outside rome however it cost me under 100 euros a night and was acutally quite ballernous. (if anyone cares, hotel saint paul - and its 10 mins from the subway line!)
anyway, i disagree with people that say it's expensive. instead of eating at fancy "rape me in the ass" restaurants, handle the mom and pop shops where the food is probably better and half the price! (i did that too!)
and don't pay for stupid ing tour guides, instead put that money into a gps, pick a station on the small ass rt line they have and wander, gps to nearest station and repeat for x days. pretty much anything you look at or do in that time = amazing.
also watch out for a bro named chad. |

The one you can buy in stores, and the one on T.V. is narrated by Oprah. The one you can buy on the BBC and Discovery websites, is narrated by David Attenborough. |

haha... what? I have to advise against renting a hotel in the ghetto outskirts on the cheap. Paying a little more for something with good security goes a long way to enjoying your vacation (Plus, taking ladies back to the place is a lot less awkward). My experience with an apartment was great- between my buddy and I, it was less than $100 each per night. We were close to the Colosseum and 1/4 mile from the underground metro. However, it still was easily the most expensive stop on our trip.
Otherwise I'm with you... stay the hell away from touristy restaurants, tour guides, etc. We just winged it and had a ing blast. But what's with the ing showers over there? Just a bathtub with a hand sprayer and no shower curtain? wtf |

Yeah, I'll bet that was a huge bother for him.
I've got to hand it to him though, doing Rome on the cheap isn't easy... |

I didn't spend a cent the last time I went to Rome.

One would say he has large testicles for braving the ty part of the city. I'm not sure how bad the area was where he stayed, but I passed through some places that probably make Baghdad look appealing. :p |

True. Maybe his friends had a hand in deciding where they would stay? |
