ROFL. Okay, if you want to be that general, I'd have to concede that rap is EM. I just oppose it being associated with Dance, Trance, House, Techno, etc. |

most rap doesn't even have synths, they just have percusion with some guy rapping. |
Do you even know what percussion is?
(and electronic music is heretofore defined as that which is entirely dependent on being plugged into a wall in order to operate....yes, that includes hip hop, for those of you too narrow-minded to function properly) |

all i can think of, and i'd have to go with trance as the best :p |

Please take Hip-Hop of the list.
It has absolutely nothing to do with EDM. |

Hip-Hop is an acceptable genre of EDM, just as much as Trance. It's electronically produced (like Trance), and has vocals in it (like Trance). The only main difference is the tempo, and the style of the vocals. Hip-Hop is breaky, whereas Trance isn't. It also has the occasional synth-line. |

man...are people just that stupid or in deep denial???
verdict: both
and Hydarnes, dont be so goddamn sure of yourself, you dont have a much of a clue what the your on about.
putting labels on music unless its really generic, is plain pointless. but it will all result in arguments because whos to judge that its generic or not. its all a bunch of rubish. i thought i liked how some of my favorite genres of edm were a bit more underground, but the ignorance around it all is just ridiculous! i mean there isnt even basic knowledge what varieties of edm there are! the easiest thing to figure out, is that its ELECTRONIC! say it with me! electronic! any music electronically produced, is EDM, as far as im concered. I admit the "Dance" in Electronic Dance Music, can be misleading. oh well...im getting worked up and confused...its all rubish as i said :p
ive had a mishap... |

Yes, it's a sound found in almost all music, to greater and lesser degrees. Is all music EDM now?

Amen. And notice that when they're cornered they generalize it to "EM". lol

lol...you're picking at straws now because you have no case. I do know what techno is to some extent, but I wanted a good song that represents or embodies the style... because Techno has been associated with so different forms of EDM, and I was starting to get confused. Don't try to imply that because of this I'm somehow ignorant in my placement of rap and hip-hop in relation to EDM.

Then don't stop there, put New Age in the list! Let's see, what other style of music employs synthesizers....:D |
