Who says their origins are different? I gave you a link before, did you read it? Electronic music had to come from somewhere too.

Oh, and hip-hop is still electro breaks, so your argument r teh sux.

I read it and enjoyed it but it is hardly proof of a common origin. If you can show me that rap/hip-hop started as a branch off from EDM or that EDM branched out from Hip-hop I'll buy that they are related. This, however, is impossible to do because one evolved from funk, the other from disco which in turn evolved from soul and rock respectively.... sure if you go back far enough you can trace them both back to the hymns sung by US slave labourers, however, you really need to draw the line somewhere or all music becomes an offshoot of the grunts made by Astrilopithigus (I must have mispelled that). My point is that these two genres evolved at similar times from differing musical influances and as such cannot be the same genre. All the artical you posted really shows is an element of mixing styles and influances, which is natural considering that electro was a largely experimental style.

Well you didn't get the point. But you can you say tracks are related without asking the producer if he got his idea from another track?

Hip-hop was influenced by electro, and even used the same sounds. It just adapted a certain style of expressing vocals.

Hip hop music is related to the griots of West Africa; traveling singers and poets whose musical style is reminiscent of hip hop. Some griot traditions came with slaves to the New World.

Id bet that they "breakdanced," and it wouldn't supise me if they mixed songs while singing them.

Breaking
Main article: Breaking

Breaking, also known as B-boying or B-girling by its practitioners and followers, is a dynamic style of dance that is part of Hip Hop culture and emerged out of the Hip-Hop movement in the South Bronx of New York City during the late 20th century. Breaking is one of the many elements of Hip Hop culture. Commonly associated with, but distinct from, "Popping", "Locking","Hitting", "Ticking","Boogaloo", and other Funk Styles that evolved independently in California during the late 20th century. It was common during the 1980s to see groups of people in a playground, basketball court, or sidewalk with a radio performing breakdancing shows for a large audience.

There is some speculation that breaking stems from the Capoeira form of dancing/martial arts which was developed by the slaves during the slavery period in Brazil though most of the originators of Breaking would disagree.
auranaut
That's not proof. Breakdancing was "invented" when Kool Herc started spinning two copies of the same record to lengthen the break.
