I wish it were that simple :( :( I would be 120lbs RIGHT now if that were the case. |
Its not impossible to do. Problem is going about it and resisting to overcome temptation. Thats the main reason why larger obese ppl cant lose weight, including myself. Its all lack of motivation. Once u get past that point, theres really no reason to not lose weight. Of course most ppl choose the easy way out, get lazy, eat something that shouldnt be eaten and they fall right back into the trap. If ure determined, it can happen. Of course with diet, u dont go from eating BK and McDonalds 5x a week to eating brocolli for lunch. U have to slowly integrate healthy foods and slowly take out the crap. Not just healthy, but small portions. Ive lost 10 pounds over the past few weeks by simply substituting 1-2 servings of fruits/vegetables and no exercise. If i added exercise in the mix, then it would be a diff story, id prob lose more. Ppl blame it on genes, but honestly, when u shove ure face with food 24/7 and its all saturated fats, its not ure genes, its ure mouth thats the problem. Genetics is partly responsible but that isnt usually the case for most ppl. Its just an excuse not to change up their lifestyle.
P.S. you can still have tasty foods just less of it and ABSOLUTELY NO TAKE OUT. Whether it be McDonalds or even Applebees or ure local pizzeria, u just gotta stay away. Actually, SUBWAY is ok. When its owned by doctors, u know it cant be too bad. HAHA. :p |

I haven't had time to workout much because of finals but. I stopped what i used to do. Traditional weightlifting followed by HIT cardio.
I do kettlebell training now and the use of a few medicine balls and have seen great results in fatloss + strength
Anyone else try kettlebells? |

| Also people here drink too much and lack of sleep. Between those 2 alone you're not going to lose weight |

"What is a 'kettlebell'?
A 'kettlebell' or girya (Russ.) is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. The ultimate tool for extreme all-round fitness. "RussianKettlebells

again, thats really easy for some people to say. I eat MORE than perfect, including small portions. I work out (weights AND cardio) 3 days a week, 1 1/2 hours each). I drink a cup of green tea a day, eat a balanced diet, take multi vitamins, fiber tablets, drink plenty of water without overdoing it, and the list goes on. I eat so healthy, that whenever I DO get a slice of pizza or whatnot, I feel sick now. I even sit in the sauna/steamroom after my workouts to relieve stress and relax a bit.
I would say my only bad habits are my cup of joe everyday and 3-4 beers/drinks on the weekend (no more than that!) And I am gaining weight. lol c'est la vie. At least I FEEL good, but it still sucks to work so hard with no results. |

kel im soo sure its muscle weight ur gaining if ur regimen is how u describe it. maybe its just going to take a bit longer, it will happen, no doubt. the health part is what matters more. :) i would say don't worry about it, but consult a nutritionist or physical trainer if u are truly concerned.
i haven't lost weight yet either.
btw green tea is known to be a fat burner and also to increase ur endurance while exercising. so ur def on the right track.
medicine balls: yes they are awesome...IF I COULD LIFT ONE WITHOUT KILLING MYSELF. hrhrhr :haha: maybe i will try it in a few months. right now, just doing crunches... |

Have u had ure thyroid checked ?? If u are doing all of the above and eating right, u should have lost some weight. You might have hypothyroidism and not know it. This is another reason for being overweight. See ure doc and maybe they can check ure TSH level to make sure everything is ok. |
