Exactly Kelly - don't mess with it. There's enough crap going into our bodies from what we eat without our even knowing it. To add in a dangerous mix that gets your heart racing, makes you jittery and anxious, etc.... is just plain dumb. Not to mention that it causes you to starve yourself, then binge as soon as the pills wear off, which is the worst. Most people lose no weight on these pills, and even gain.

<--- Ex-ephedrine enthusiast from back when the pills were legal about 7 years ago. Net loss after putting my body through so much stress: 0 pounds, and probably a few gained.

there is a reason people call it "poor man's speed" you might as well just start doing meth. it's very harsh on the stomach......i remember when it was legal and you could buy the red packs of 6 pills in stores....used to eat a hand full of them before clubbing and be wired for days. quit taking them when my stomach got so ed up and i thought i was having a heart attack. i dont care what anybody says......it's dangerous stuff even in moderation.

Ephedra actually works. Xenadrine EFX was probably the best one around when it was legal.

People would show me before and after pictures and it was insane. I couldn't believe some of these people were that big before! The only bad thing was that people got hooked on them because first week.. you were advised to take 1 a day.. 2nd week 2 a day... 3rd week.. 3.. and so on until it finished. Then, they were to stay off of it for 1 1/2 months. People never did. lol.

I'm taking pills with Hoodia in them which i'm not gonna lie, it's pretty good minus the whole anxious feeling I get on the come down. As soon as I eat something it goes away. But the appetite suppressant in it lasts the day I take it and the next day.

Now i'm going to say +1 the all the dangers in it.. I wouldn't recommend them to people who prob never took Ephedra... but i won't stop till my tummy goes away!

Oh and Wai - I bought a jump rope lol. I prob touched that thing twice :x... I should get into the habit!

awesome, if you don't like jumping rope do some jumping jacks or something to speed up your heart but jumpring rope at home to me seems like a quick and easy way to get in some cardio...mixing it in with other stuff.

^^agree with miss. bliss and vtec. I also took Hydroxycut in college and the made me lose 15 lb in 2 months.

I could never take the 3 pills tho. The 2 ALONE made my stomach into swiss cheese and I felt like I had 5 cups of coffee in one sitting. :nervous:

Herbalife green pills had ephedra back in the early 90's, which I took twice a day as part of their liquid diet/vitamin regimen. I justified it back then because it was supplying a lot of vitamins that i was otherwise forgetting to take (you know how college can get). Ultimately during my senior year of college I lost 16 pounds in 2 months which was insane, but I also restricted my calorie count and drank 8 bottles of water to digest the pills completely so who knows what REALLY caused the weight loss. *shruggs* That in turn served also as a motivator for me to start exercising (just hand and ankle weights -- low weights high reps consistently -- with jumping jacks as cardio) for 30 minutes a day 4 days a week at home. Ultimately i stopped the strict liquid diet routine and just ate regular food. I kept that weight off for about 7 years -- during the first 2-3 yrs I was taking the pills maybe every 6 months if i felt i was slipping...and trying all sorts of diets/regimens (being vegetarian, eating healthy). so it did TEACH me to be a bit more healthy but ultimately i realized it wasn't good for my heart as time went on and i completely went off them.

im just glad i finally LEARNED to enjoy exercising as of last October (which still surprises me to this DAY!!). i always used to wonder about ppl who were determined about maintaining their strict schedule to the gym etc. but now i know exactly how that feels and i am SOO GLAD :)

You wouldnt have a heart attack if you take them properly and dont drink any further caffeine (unless you already have heart problems of course). The pill has enough caffiene trust me. When I take them I can't sleep.

As for stomache issues on the pills...never had any, but I wasnt swallowing mouth fulls of pills. I was just taking 1-2 per day at the most.

I am in no way saying that you or anyone should take them (unless they want to of course), they do have side effects I wont disagree with you on that. I choose to take them because the side effect's dont really effect me that much except for the jitters/shakes now and then. I don't even really care if they make me loose weight. I use them to pep me up when I am tired because I dont drink coffee and I also take them at work sometimes when I am behind or overloaded because it makes me work much faster than my usual speed and I can get much more accomplished.

I've been taking them on and off for years now and never experienced any side effects that were so harsh that it would make me stop taking them.

Seriously...you have NO idea. Especially right now. Our Fiscal year end is on 1/31 and it's our busiest time of year. I'm ready to find a building to jump off of :( Unfortunately ours isn't tall enough, I might actually survive :wtf:

I am getting outta here in 3 minutes then on my way to the liquor store for the biggest bottle of vodka I can find.
