You'd be getting comb filtering off the back of your screen :)
Move it a few inches back from the furthest corner of your monitors

I'm after a desk like yours (where the pc is). I know you're in the US, but how much did it cost you and was it specially made?

Thanks, I'm loving it. The desk is a product from Studio RTA. They sell them at Guitar Center. There is actually a top part for it as well, but I didn't need that part of it, so I didn't put it on. I paid $499 for it. You should be able to get it from just about any major music retailer. Be aware, its super heavy but very sturdy.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, did you mean move the computer monitor back towards the wall more?
echosystm
Back towards the wall mate ;)

Sound doesnt come straight out the front of the speakers, it comes out the edges too. Comb filtering and reflections are almost impossible to remove entirely since your screen would be so far back you couldn't read it. Life is about compromises. :p

If you have your screen like 2-3 inches behind the front of your speakers you should be fine.

ATM you have...

/ <- Speaker
-| <- Screen
\ <- Speaker

Make it like...
-/ <- Speaker
| <- Screen
-\ <- Speaker

Ahh, I see what you mean. OK, I'll definitely get that done. I really appreciate the advice.

Eric J, I'm located in San Antonio.
Is your studio open to the public?

I'm sorry, but it is not open to the public. It's just my personal studio.

Thanks, it's taken me 10 years and a lot of cash, but the results are worth it! :)

You know I really don't use them all that much anymore. The JV 1080 in particular is a great "bread and butter" synth, great for "real" instruments. So if I need a good sounding Piano or even a good choir, I'll turn to the JV for that. There is a patch called Deep Strings that has some of the best sounding strings I've ever heard, especially in the low registers. If you play a low C (octave 2 or 3) on that patch its got a great Cello type feel to it. Very warm. It gets more usage for non-EDM stuff.

The Proteus 2000 actually has some good basses and a few decent leads, and it is sort of quasi-analog in that I have the ability to tweak traditional analog synth parameters with the front knobs such as filter cutoff, resonance, etc.

I've had them for over 5 years now, so I kind of feel I've exhausted the possibilities with both of them and I'm kind of burnt on the sounds, but the good thing about that is that I know exactly where they will fit in a mix should I need them.
