I'm shortly going to be getting rid of the Macbook Pro and replacing it with a new 8-core Mac Pro. The MBP can't really handle Logic too well, as it's only a first gen model with a 1.8ghz Core Duo CPU rather than a newer, faster Core 2 Duo one.
The two external screens are powered by a Matrox Dualhead2go....seriously, if you have a couple of spare screens then you should DEFINITELY get one of these. It basically treats the two 19" flat panels as one long 2560x1024 display. Coupled with the 1440x900 display on the MBP, that's one hell of a lot of screen space to play with. |

hahaha... those boxes huh? :D probably not the most acoustically sound speaker stands in the world, but they make my desk feel less cluttered, so that's a big bonus! |

the edges of the boxes would allow a lot of resonance to pass through to your desk. if you got a piece of foam or wood and cut it about 2" smaller than your speakers, you could transfer all the energy into a more concentrated area on the stand. obviously being plastic, the middle will flex a bit, thus giving you an isolating effect. it could work quite well! i've heard of guys using small cardboard boxes to isolate monitors before. also if you drilled a few holes in the box somewhere to make sure it's not airtight, that would help. you would need quite a few holes though, otherwise it would turn into a bass port lol. :) |

Had painters in today - yay. I'll have a nice desk arriving in a couple weeks and will post a new pic after that - but I'm really glad to have some color in there now. :)
