Do you still use those 7506 headphones a lot for reference after getting the Mackies? |

Yeah I do. They're great when I'm composing or doing sound design or just when I want a 2nd reference. But I would never use only headphones for mixing.
I plan on getting a pair of AKG k240s to use as a 3rd reference... and maybe a pair of Sennheisers as a 4th... and then a pair of ADAMs as a 1st with Mackies as 2nd... :) |

imo the 7506 is TERRRIBLE for producing, while great for djeing. Ive had them a few years now and im starting to look for something else, but i want read quality this time. |

I've heard this, too. I don't feel they're terrible... I've had major DJ support on tracks done with just a pair of HD7506s. But they probably would have been a lot better had I not. ;)
But, again, they serve well as a 2nd reference and I plan to soon get a pair of AKG K240s and a pair of Sennhesiers to use as a 3rd and 4th references. |

| I'm in need of a new pair of headphones for DJing and was also considering the 7506 as a 3rd reference for producing on the side. Seeing as the K240s are going for relative low prices, might as well pick them both up :) |

Can never hurt to have multiple reference devices, i am personally saving up for a pair of 240s myself. |

Or a pair of Focals. I haven't decided nor do I have the finances. When I do, though, it'll be worth it to drive to Boston to hear them in person before buying. |
