i agree.. he started the season in his usual fashion but started to crumble as the season went on.. even his defense, starting like 2 months ago, began committing errors quite often. even tho he set a record in steals, thats pretty much all he'll be remembered for this year, he had so much potential to have an all around solid season but nope. maybe Ramirez/Rollins comp got to him a bit. |
Rollins is probably the MVP this year. |

it's because he think's he's a homerun hitter. He doesn't have the power to miss the ball and still drive it out. Therefore, he pops out a lot. He needs to realize that his game is small ball, and he needs to drive the ball into the ground. He also needs to understand that the mets pay carlos beltran, david wright, and carlos delgado to drive runs in, his job is to get on base and score. |
This reminds me of the time a reporter asked Ichiro if he could hit 30 home runs in a season and he said yes, if you want me to bat .275.
I know Rollins has had an incredible season but Holliday would get my vote for mvp. He basically carried his team for a month, he'll win the batting title and has the league lead in RBIs and total bases. He's done it all for a team nobody has paid attention to and a team that was left for dead two weeks ago. |

think i saw a stat that said that reyes had only one SB over the last few wks of the season. shows he wasn't playing the game that he's capable of. heartbreaking end to the mets season. /sigh. bad pitching led to the downfall. month by month, the mets' ERA kept ballooning. |

Alou's 30 game HS goes to waste as Mets sets another history in the worst way possible.
imo, Willie should have pulled Glavine early, vet or not, its a do or die game, 7run in the 1st is just ridiculous. Willie's lack of managing experience came in to play. |

philadelphia has 1.5 million people, it is part of the northeast, and is probably one of the top sports towns in the country; Denver can't compete with that. |

| OMG....looks like the MVP was just decided, game tying triple by holliday. This is one of the best comebacks in a long time. |

And the all out effort on the head first dive at the plate (though he looked out). That was one hell of a baseball game. |

regardless, the rockies deserve it, they played their asses off the last two weeks. plus i like seeing hoffman blow games. seems like he can't nail down important games. he can get 50 meaningless games, but when they need him he disappears.
for those of yo who didn't watch that game, you missed one hell of a comeback. |

With the way they've been playing coupled with how wide open the NL is they can definitely get to the fall classic. They're by far the hottest team at the moment, which is a huge advantage this team of year (reminds me of the Marlins in '03).
Also, I love it when small market teams make a huge impact, it makes the game so much more fun. |

More importantly it great for baseball. I have a feeling this is going to be a great post season. There are some great matchups already. THe phillies rockies match up looks like it may be a classic. |
