well..not the GREATEST night of all time
(A GAME WHERE ALL RUNS SCORED HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ORTIZ - he was credited with a WALK no less -- now that is f*ckin sad indeed)
tru
but...it did have its entertaining moments...
we saw...some very visible arrests (complete with cops in tow)...some fights almost break out in the stands...some ppl just totally missing fly balls by mere inches and getting heckled...a fellow fan to the left of us yelling for every Red Sox batter to get hit HARD in the back with a fastball by the Yankees
...phuzzyfish getting heckled by a FELLOW yankee fan late in the game (who was obviously frustrated), and she had the pleasure of screaming back and forth with for at least 10 minutes
...and last but not least, three long-islandish girls crawling under the turnstiles in the train station AFTER the game...and running STRAIGHT into the faces of the PO-lice - HA! And the crowd around us wh00ping loudly as we watched the biatches try to plead their case...UH UH!!! :tongue2
but all in all, i did have fun at my first yankees game tho...but they had BETTER in step up as the season progresses. CANO - 3 strikeouts... should be ashamed of urself, and A-ROD with that f*ckin error Mere was about to kill u hrhrhr
...lol. ok. calm.
this was our view from where we first entered the top of section 3

walking down toward our section (two rows up from that "NO OBJECTS ON LEDGE" area)

well at least final exams are good for one thing, I don't have time to watch this bull unfold in the field.
Mariano...oh...mariano. I said it prior to the beginning of last season, but it looks like i was 365 days to early. He's done (effective wise). If he doesn't develop a curve or change up, he won't last a season. No one is fooled by his 90 mph cutter. WTF are we going to do?? |

For all you Boston Fans, here are Matsuzaka's lines against the yankees. not impressive:
Games -- IP -- H -- R -- ER -- K -- ERA
4/22 ---- 7 -- 8 -- 6 -- 6 --- 7 -- 7.71
4/27 ---- 6 -- 5 -- 4 -- 4 --- 7 -- 6.00
Total -- 13 - 13 -- 10 -- 10 - 14 -- 6.92
Hey, i have to find a silver lining in these dreary days. Although i will admit his K's and hits allowed in the second game aren't bad. I just wouldn't want a line like those coming up too frequently. |

I agree. You guys can't pitch, you're not hitting and your pen is worse than it usually is. It's way too early to be definite about anything, but the Yanks ship is sinking and it's sinking fast. We're playing mediocre ball and we're beating you consistently. Go Sox! |

He had one bad inning yesterday. I still think he's gonna win RotY and finish with a below 3.80 ERA. |

I don't agree with you steven, a sunk ship can't go down any further, i think we can still go down a bit more. There's no pitching as said by djstopngo, and we're not hitting. I say we'll be sunk in the next few days and after the texas series we'll get out of it. Wang will win against boston, and then we have 7 out of ten against seattle starting may 4. That looks promising.
I hope this means torre will get fired and we'll get girardi or mattingly in his place. Although i think we were 11-19 last year before we came back to get the best record in the league. It's not really that bleak.
Honestly, im not putting that stuff out there to bash matsuzaka, its because i think he's a little overhyped. He looks good, but not great.
as for matsuzaka getting the rookie of the year, i think he'll definitely get a run for his money by this guy Ian Kinsler from texas. If he can keep his BA and run production up he's a shoe in. Check out his line:
BA .329, HR 8, RBI 20, OBP .398, SLG .712
But to tell you the truth it would suck if he did get it because he's no really a rookie. The damn guy was a god in japan and won the mvp in the baseball classic. I think the award should be for young guys who have never played on this level. |
