As for clemens, what does it matter if it was pro rated? He received 18.5 M, which comes out to a little over $1M a start. And that's not including the 7.5M that was tacked on because of the luxury tax.

Even if arod was paid $35M a year, that would be about 216K a start. A bargain compared to Clemens. But the real cost of a $35M contract to the yankees for the first 3 years is something around $27M. So effectively, the yankees wouldn't be paying more than ARods current contract, its just that the texas portion would be in addition. At 27M the yankees would be paying about 166K a game. A serious bargain compared to Clemens.

well said.

a-rod should retire as a yankee imo, what better club to break all types of records and be able to be in the same sentence as the yank legends.

and LOL @ clemens. waste of mad loot imo i was dyin when they announced he got cut cuz he couldnt get the job done...lol if youre young leaving cuz you pulled something is sympathetic. not when youre 45 and been wack.

We won't find out anything until the org. knows what everyone is going to do for 08. It will be well after the series before you hear any more about who's staying or leaving.

FYI* the series is over Nov 1st... 8 days before Arod has to make a choice. And I bet even that will be delayed.

I couldn't have pictured a much better Sox start to the alcs then what is happening right now.

Manny is so in the zone it's scary.

The only part i caught was when sabathia fell apart....walking in manny, wtf is that from a supposed cy young contender. he didn't look good against the yankees, and obviously he wasn't good today. To be honest, i wouldn't mind seing a colorado v boston series. I'm interested to see the results from the back end of the boston rotation. Also, i wonder if Clevelands momentum was destroyed by beckett. If so, beckett will also be the MVP for boston. It seems to me he has been getting better.

Was cleveland ever in the situation where they could have scored with a 2 out hit? Is that success over?

Ben, you must have been steaming mad when you saw Gagne enter the game. I was laughing when i saw gagne strut onto the field.

Why does francona bring him into the game?

EDIT: Go Borowski, he's from my hometown.

As soon as he took the mound I knew it was gonna be a problem...I'm dissapointed though at ortiz,,manny and lowell for trying to hunt for glory rather than just get the ball in play....
