I'd like to hear a non-yankees fan take on the AL east race and Wild card.

Duncan, 2 ML hits, 2 HRs. I don't know what to say!! not my type of baseball, but if it produces runs, i can live with it.

Hes like Giambi at a fraction of the cost. Eventually he will learn to swing to get on base, rather than to swing for the fences all the time.

The more I see of Phillips the more Im getting used to it and Im liking it.

phillips had a decent year a few years back when he was platooning with tino. he batted .280 or something like that. his story is just another great example of torre mismanaging a team. torre has a kid who look promising and goes on a hot streak, then torre sits his ass, and he goes cold when playing a week later.

Because Torre doesnt know how to manage youth, and now that hes desperate he has no choice but to play him more and more. Im sure if he keeps hitting and fielding well he will start next year at 1B, and this will give them even more of a reason why they should get rid of Giambi (ESPECIALLY if Shelly keeps hitting). This also saves them alot of prospects by not going after Teixiera, instead their trade for the year should be for Rowand. Hopefully they could dump Damon in that deal, maybe go 50/50 on the contract.

UPDATE: Shelly Duncan hits another HR! :stongue: :haha: :stongue: :haha:

The score now... 18-3, 22 hits for the Bombers.

So funny how we were just talking about this yesterday...

Torre pulled A-Rod, moved Phillips from 1B to 3B and moved Shelly from DH to 1B... and now Sean Henn is hitting in A-Rods spot.
Vlad
GODZIWWA!!!!

We have officially cracked 20 runs today. =)

Just when you think they would take it easy with a 15 run lead, nah, they keep scoring... Melke singles... score now 21-3

i feel validated....i wasn't 100% sure about that rule, but it's official. Rodriguez came out and henn had to hit in his position. whhhoooo....saved from feeling like an ass. :D

NOONE is going to take Damon unless we pick up a significant portion of his contract. Isn't his agent borASS?? I'm sure there's a no trade clause somewhere in there.

Yes he is, and were paying Damon 11.051m until 2009. If that isnt a thorn, I dont know what is.

signed 4-year deal worth 52M thru 2009 season on 12/22/05- + he receives salaries of 13M each year in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009- + he receives a limited NO-TRADE clause- + 2005 salary: 8.25M- + bonuses he has earned: 50K for 2005 All-Star selection

hey James,,,I just had a lot of fun reading back through the early posts in this thread...when you aint studying take a look..theres some very accurate predictions and many whack ones..it's an interesting read...

I dont think we will get Rowand unless the Phils dont move him and we pick him up in december, the Phils want a SP. I think our best bet is Byrnes, but hes gonna be asking 50m for 5 years.
