who thinks the indians can keep this up?

I have no idea. That division is so tight - the tigers, twins & indians are all so lethal. I see Detroit taking that division because they have a little more depth in their rotation - but I wouldn't be surprised if any of those teams got hot in the second half and took that divison. However, without a run from the A's, it looks like the Central will claim the wild card too.

PS Our offense is feasting on D-Rays pitching. Nothing like a series against Tampa to get your offense back on track.

TB will get anyone's offense going except the yankees offense.

For some reason i don't see the indians keeping it up. Their staff seems too weak to keep it up. But i guess the yankees have succeeded the past few years on the same recipe. As for the twins, they didn't look too good against the yankees. Tigers will definitely take it. As for the central taking the wildcard, i don't know. Like i said, the twins didn't look too good, and i can't see the indians staying this hot. There is still some lingering hope the yankees can get back on track and take it.

I agree except that the Yanks starting rotation is going to have to pitch a lot better. At this rate, Proctor's arm is going to fall off before the season ends. I see the Indians fading, Sabathia and Carmona are pitching better than they are. Certainly the Yanks offense will perform (Melky & Abreu are heating up) but it's going to be up toyour starting rotation, which has been very inconsistent.

Let's discuss the All Star game. I'm sorry for all the Mets fans, but it makes no sense that Wright is starting over Cabrera at third and I have no idea how Holliday (.352, 14 HR, 68 RBIs, 55 Runs) is not starting in the outfield for the NL. I also think Haren should start for the AL, if the season ended this week he'd win the Cy Young hands down.

at least cabrera is in

I can't figure why Hanley, Rollins, and Renteria are out...one more NL SS should have made it

i agree that the pitching will have to get better, but i don't think melke or abreu will make a difference. Both have shown to be highly inconsistent all year. Abreu brought his BA up to .270 in the middle of june just to have it fall back to .247 or something like that.

agreed on all points. cabrera is much better than wright. wright has the benefit of playing in NY. Holliday has the same curse as cabrera, but in holliday's case it's because he plays in denver. If he was in LA, Chicago, or NY he would be starting.

The only thing i would ad is that not only should ortiz not be starting, he probably shouldn't be on the team. I think it should be Youk starting and morneau the reserve. Youk has a much higher BA, similar R and RBI, and 6 less HR than Ortiz. Not only that, but there's also the obvious distinction that Youk actually plays first base.

Except Haren is about to hit a downfall.

Not only should hanley be on the team, but he should be starting. He's having a better year than reyes.

Oh...and carlos beltran shouldn't be on the all star team this year. He hasn't been having that great of a season.

they're about the same, but i would give the nod to hanley. The main differences are that hanley has more HRs and a higher BA, while reyes has more SB and a higher OBP. However, Hanley still has more runs.

this is why fans shouldn't be voting on the starting lineup, just who gets in.

Doesn't the all star team manager get to ad players onto the roster? It would be a shame if Hanley doesn't get on the team.
