If Im in med school, Ill drive whatever I got. When youre debt grows to like 250k, you take what you can get. But hopefully a job as an EKG tech, will prevent me from driving around in a Honda Civic, lol. |

because i'm lazy right now....you mean after the 2008 season??? Didn't santana resign? |
Yeah, I think Santana did resign. You also have to assume that the Padres & Indians are going to give Peavy & Sabathia top dollar - certainly the Padres will empty the piggy bank. I think CC is a bit overrated. I know he has 13 wins but his run support has been high and strikeout/home run, extra base hit ratio is not that high. |

FInally we have a decent backup catcher. Yankees acquired Jose molina today. funny that it happened after wil nieves finest game as a yankee last night.
EDIT: i'm liking melke more every game.....the kid bunts, steals third, has a strong arm, and is improving his bat. i think we have a keeper. Not a superstar, but definitely a solid player. hopefully this offseason he'll work on his speed and power a bit. i'm not asking for much, maybe 30 SB and 15HR. |

Melke and Phillips are what made the Yankees so successful. Stand up guys, who can play. They arent superstars, but they want to play and play to the best of their abilities.
On as much of a good note, how about todays game? Yankees look like they are continuing last nights hit and run parade ripping them up for 13 runs and 13 hits through the 4th inning.
THIS is the Yankee team I was expecting to see all year long, a run scoring machine! And... Shelly hits another blast today. :D |

Phillips has 15 RBIs in 84 AB. That's on pace for around 100 RBI in a season. And he's batting at the bottom of the order. ***contain excitement*** hopefully he can continue this play. now that he's getting a real everyday shot maybe he will become a quality player.
Duncan, 2 ML hits, 2 HRs. I don't know what to say!! not my type of baseball, but if it produces runs, i can live with it.
KC next, oh boy does this look promising. Bostons next series is against cleveland. while that's not ideal, we'll pick up ground on someone as long as we win. I just hope they can stay consistent. |
