There's no shame in using public transit. I like the lifestyle, tbh. I like being around people, even if some of them are weirdos, or living at the poverty line. |
True that. |

+1. I love public transit. So much fun. The weirdos make it half the fun imho. |

can't say I agree, personally. 1 week of riding the subways around NYC and I was mentally exhausted from the depressing lives constantly surrounding me. |

Despite my general hated towards people, I like to be able to empathize with them. I do find people's unique life stories very interesting. I love knowing how people got to where they are and what makes them who they are. It's only depressing when you don't understand it. |

I didn't mind it... I didn't know anyone who lived in San Fran that had a car... we all did public transit. I usually walked - rarely took anything else, but I didn't mind the trains/buses/trolleys so much.
You probably didn't like it cause you only did it for a week. |

See, that doesn't bother me. I am empathetic to their situation, but I have no sympathy for them. Sucks, but you make your own bed, so lie the down in it. If they aren't willing to do what it takes to better their situation through legal means, that is their bad.
Also, the more you take it, the more you come to love it. It is overall hassle free. Aside from the scheduling issues that may be present depending on what city you live in. |

| I have about a 12 minute ride by Metro to get home every day, but sometimes I'll take the bus (knowing it goes through Georgetown and gets stuck for 20 minutes at M and Wisconsin) just to people watch. The Metro is too chaotic for that sometimes. |

| I wish we had public transportation here. It's basically unheard of here. |
