| I still don't have a tree up this year. The trees are expensive as at $200. I guess that it is time to get the axe and go to Canada to get me a tree. :) |

Besides, I couldn't care less about what others are wearing, so if you do care about the way I dress, you're probably not a person I want to be around. It's always worked like a charm. |
Really? Are you saying you couldn't see yourself being friends with someone who does not approve of you wearing sneakers to their wedding [say the bride and groom or their close family members]? Friendship and affection are not defined by that.
I'm not trying to pick on you, Lira, but that makes no sense. We're not referring to mere superficiality here. We're referring to wearing proper shoes to a friend's wedding. |

It usually goes much deeper than that.
Naturally, there are countless possible situations but, more often than not, a person that cares about the footwear a minor guest wears at their wedding ceremony is likely to be more of a control freak. The thing is: I can only think of very few people that would be bothered by that, both in my family and among my acquaintances, and they're usually the people I'd rather not see anyway.
And, don't worry, I didn't feel picked on... though I'm actually surprised: my shoes never attracted this much attention off-line (though I was pretty much just debating with Jenny here). |

| Sorry Lira, it's just not forgivable. A wedding is a silly occasion that clearly calls for clown shoes. You should be ashamed of yourslef! |

You're right...
I'm truly sorry, and I'd like to apologise for my childish behaviour. Sorry for letting you guys down, Arbie is right, I should've known better. I'm going to phone them right away and tell them how much regret and sorrow I feel in my heart :(

Lira, it's always better to be overdressed than under-dressed. Always.
Converse sneakers on a suit scream that you're a boy or a overly rich rockstar. You're neither.
If you don't care about convention, then why are you wearing a suit? Clearly you care about looking good right? Because you could have just worn a t-shirt and jeans to be comfortable. |

If the shoes had been red instead of blue it would have been a really rockin combo.

When in a suit i always felt i was breaking some sorf of etiquette when i simply removed my tie. Wearing speakers would have completely blown my mind. Then again when i wasn't used to wearing a suit i would always have a pair of speakers in my car for driving, so i could feel like a civilian again after work, but after a few weeks i got so used to wearing a suit all day that i actually felt kind of awkward in jeans and tshirt.
Or maybe Lira actually is an overly rich rockstar and his teaching gig is just for fun :wtf: |
