because i love alcohol....i've been saving bottle caps for God knows how long now, and I finally had enough to do an end table today. similar to the coffee table where i put down all the six packs i had been saving and layered it with liquid acrylic, i did the same thing w/ bottle caps on an end table.
It's still a work in progress, as one bottle of liquid was not enough...i'm waiting for it to dry, and then going to add a second coat, so the liquid is all the same height above the caps. There are about 210 caps total (its hard to count that many, especially when they're not in complete order).
The only thing that really kinda sucks is that the wood glue and mod podge that i used to glue the caps down didn't dry as clear as i had hoped....so there are some white spots underneath the caps...but overall, it looks really sweet. check it out:
Before gluing: a test to see if i had enough.

Sure enough, i did: thus let the gluing begin.

Liquid Acrylic added!

Mmmmm, shiney:

the blue tape around the edge is to keep the liquid from dripping off...plus it'll help keep the acrylic level when i add the second coat.
