I'd be following Slylee's advice on this one. |

you better find a shady mechanic who will reverse the mileage for you lol |
Heh, I posted this on the regional forums on the 8thcivic boards a few weeks ago, and the third or so response was:

Yeah, not that I don't have faith a really trustworthy message like this, but I think I'd prefer the idea of financing overmileage to the idea of, you know, jail. |

Oh, it is most certainly a trap, but I managed to get a better rate via the lease agreement, and I think my intent all along was to pay off the residual at the end of the term in order to own it.
However, three years and 100,000 miles can do remarkable things to your preferences. |

I leased my car :D
It's great when you want a car you can't necessarily afford and don't drive a lot. It's a fat in the ass if you DO drive a lot. I got my car for 15k miles a year for 4 years....which is ty because at the end of 4 years I will have paid off virtually nothing and have nothing to show for it. I'm thinking at the end of my lease I'll just trade my GTI in for the 2010 GTD (woo) to purchase. Then it will be all mine. AAalll mine. |

You get a tax rebate for that in Cali, don't you, because it's deisel? Or is that only for the regular TDI?
Edit: By 'tax rebate' I mean an IOU :p |

It doesn't apply to a specific model. The fact that it is diesel gets the tax breaks.
Bas: I want the GTD so bad. That is so sick. |

Yeah, diesel cars get a tax incentive here...although I'm not sure how long that will last. |
