must be a culture thing.
i had mine as a baby. it's the norm too. (where we are from)

They usually don't because it will just grow back or cause deformation while the child is developing so quickly, but each to their own. It's not a radical procedure or anything.

Yep me too.

Yeah both mine and my sister's ears were pierced when we were babies.
boris_the_bear
but what about consent? just as unfair as baptism
(shouldn't have mentioned the word "consent") :p
FallingMoon
Well to be fair, they did her earrings when they gave her shots. All on the same day. So the poking of the shots I'm sure was much worse than piercing the ears.
I also had mine pierced as a baby, they look so much cuter that way <3

Babies have a much higher pain threshold anyhow...they have no experiences of pain to compare it to. ;)

what are you talking about?
I am 25 and maybe the last time I wore earings was at my cousins wedding maybe 5 years ago? My holes are still there. I NEVER wear jewelry or anything - it's not me.
Even as a kid my mom would have to put them on me while I was sleeping cuz I didn't want to wear them for school pictures or communion etc..
I don't understand what "grows back" and what "deforms"
Schadenfreude
getting your ears pierced does not hurt at all.
silly boris.
