Yup, pretty much! They got married and WHOOSH down came the whip. I love it that my guy DJs... we go through records together and I pick out stuff and he spins. It's nice, I clean the house to the beats haha :p

My wife did the teaching. took about 2 months. You gotta use a toilet you don't plan on using yourself for that time.
She started using a disposable litter box with litter in it (which was perfect size to fit "inside" the toilet without falling into the water), and set it next to the toilet for a week. Then for another week, put like 10 magazines under it. Then for another week, put enough magazines under it so it was at equal height with the toilet. Then put the litter box inside the toilet with a very minimal amount of litter. (The hard cardboard like material of the disposable litter box causes them wear out so you'll go through like 3 of them by the time the process is over)
After a week of the box resting in the toilet, she cut a hole in the center of the box about the size of a donut. After that, just make the hole a little bigger each week until just the edges are left... by then the cat will figure out how to balance on the seat. After just the edges are left for a week, you can take it out and toss it for good.
You gotta be patient though... the cat will get agitated with the lack of comfort and try to hold out on going to the bathroom and might look for another place in the house to go (like a plant or something). You just gotta stay on them and make sure they don't leave the bathroom until they go... they'll get used to it eventually. And, it's ok if the bottom of the temporary litterbox retains some dirtyness when there's little sand left and the hole is small... I know it sounds nasty but having that smell there makes them realize that's where they need to go. It's totally worth it IMO... when it's over there are no more smells, no messy litter everywhere, no scooping with a plastic shovel... |

Now, did she do it when it was a kitten or once it was a little bigger? Cause our kitten is barely over 3 months. I don't even think she can spread herself around the toilet yet :haha: |

We did it for both of our cats when they were about the age yours is now... you'd be surprised at how well they can balance. Doesn't matter how small they are because they use all 4 feet to balance in the same spot when they are smaller. Our little one is 5 months old and she stands on the seat with her front paws on the outside and her back paws on the inside... so all 4 paws are lined up. And her butt hovers right over the water. As she gets bigger her legs will spread out like you saw on the bigger cat in the photos |

What about the fact that her litter box is usually A) on the other side of the house instead of near the bathroom, and B) her current litter box is a dome (so it's completely covered)? |

just take the litter box and move it like, 5 feet closer to the toilet each day until it's in there, then proceed as normal. It shouldn't make a difference if you take the dome off. Test it out one day just to see what happens if you remove it |
