True. Yeah, my particular interest is created from me having both Epson 7800 and an Epson 9600 wide format printers.
It makes a difference on a large print. Seriously. |

My 7800 had issues this week. Cost me $800 to fix it :( |

Ouch! This is the advantage of having a buddy in the industry. He can print it for me as large as I want it, and I get it at cost. :D
What did you pay for those printers?! They are 3k and 5k each according to the Epson website! |

Yes they run that much. I used to work as a bitch boy in a photo studio that had two huge Epsons. We shot everything with medium format Mamiyas so we definitely took full advantage of the large format printers. |

Well I knew that LF and WF printers are expensive, but I didn't know specifically how much the two that he has were. That is why I was curious as to the amount he paid.
My buddy that has worked in LF printing has been working with multi-million dollar machines for a few years now. One machine he used to work on at his old company was a small unit, and it was US$2.5m. |

| Epsons are pretty cheap when it comes to large/wide printers. I wouldn't pay over 5k for the 44 inch one. |

That is pretty much (technically 5500) where their price spectrum ends for those anyways. |

| They are Epsons too, so obviously there are many times when you want to break out a claw hammer and go to town, but that just results in a larger repair bill. |

LOL Their standard consumer grade printers have this exact same problem too. I didn't know it extended into the more expensive machines of theirs. |
