Wearing ear plugs actually helps with the music. Clubs that don't invest millions on their sound system usually have really bad dynamics. The Mark in Atlanta had really terrible highs and not enough mids. Wearing ear plugs, in effect, limits the offending frequencies for a much rounder sound. Having conversations with people who can barely hear me and I could easily hear them was pretty cool.
I spent $150 on a pair of ear plugs that fit to the shape of my ears after consulting my hearing doctor after a night of partying. The doctor said that ringing in your ear means your ear has been done irreparable damage. Small price to pay for what I consider one of my most important senses. |
