here's my quick thoughts on PvD in SF on saturday night:
im obviously spoiled by the 6hr sets he does in ny, cause i was dissapointed that he only played for 3. it probably didn't help that there were other djs on the bill this time, but they didn't interest me. so the place was completely packed, barely able to move, and seriously defending my personal space against this huge posse of little e'd out kids. luckily they were short. there was lots of kneeing in the back when they sat on my feet at the edge of the stage area, and it was a small victory every time they subsequently moved. pvd was on from 1.15 to 4.15 and the energy was really high throughout. the first song to bring the house down was Another Way.
what i remember trackwise:
PvD - Another Way
4 Strings - Daytime :eyes:
Silencers - Rollin an Controllin
PvD - Okyo #7
PvD - Nothing But You (original)
Kayu vs Albert - Velvet Morning <-- really got people stoked
Lunatic Asylum - Cabal (Energy Flow)
PvD vs Second Sun - Crush <-- my highlight
ended with Condor 11 - You Can (Kiss My Ass)(Light of Day mix)
i wanted to hear some Nu Nrg and had Le Mirage stuck in my head, so i kept hearing it when it wasn't there... id love to see a real tracklist from someone that knows the recent tunes, but i didn't. all in all a fun night and i still got to bed by 5.30 or so! |

1- tom doesn't read this thread, but i do. he is skinny, yeah, but rather fit.
2- watch your skinny comments, if you were here earlier then you would know about the deal with how I PERSONALLY feel about it.

i'm about to leave work...
i got to eat lunch at 5:22pm today. and i wasn't even being that productive. i just fooled around too much in the morning and therefore i didn't make it out of the office at a normal time.
ugh, and now tomorrow i've got a nice BIG load to do, in addition to it being a concert day.
by the way, has anyone in here been to B&H photo before? omg, that place was like another world. you don't get to take whatever you're buying up to the counter like in a normal store... instead they put it in these little buckets that travel along strings along the ceiling and slow down or lower or something at the pickup area, after you've paid for it. and every single sales person i saw, except for 2 black guys, was wearing a yarmulke with a long curl on either side of his head. i felt like i had walked into some alternate universe with four different entrances.
EDIT: it felt kind of like a factory cuz of those buckets and reminded me vaguely of the movie "Toys" with robin williams in it. has anyone else ever seen that? it's one of my favorite movies. |
