in' the police just called us from a subway station to tell us that my little sister has been attacked by 4 girls :(

omg 3 people died on ranier... I met them up there this past weekend, here is a fwd from email about the incident
Two men and 2 women had reached the summit via Liberty Ridge only
to be caught in worsening weather while on the top. Wind collapsed their
tents and so they dug snow caves. It appears one of them stepped on the
caves which collapsed them. One guy came down while the others remained
suffering from hypothermia. Somehow they fell in the whiteout conditions.
This party left on Saturday and I believe they are the four we passed once or
twice while on the trail to Glacier Basin and then we saw go over St. Elmo
Pass. That is the route they took. I know many of us exchanged greetings
with them while on the trail. It hits home when something like this happens
to fellow climbers who were on the mountain at the same time as we were,
facing the same conditions. It reinforces the correct decisions that were
made by the rope teams when questionable weather threatens. At least we
have another chance to make the top. |
