| DJ Cubano |
I took this from another forum but I have something to tell you guys:
EpiK-Entertainment started in May, 2001.
Since inception, no new members have joined EpiK-Entertainment.
For a DJ to be considered they had to meet the following criteria:
1) Had to be technically sound DJ's who could produce a great demo.
2) Had to be able to produce what's on the demo live with an audition.
3) Needed to show that they supported EpiK and what EpiK does and is about.
For the past two years two aspiring DJ's have hung around us and our DJ's. Not because they wanted something, but because they LOVE the music, and they love trance.
Over the past two years, they have given us demos, but we never felt they were ready to join EpiK... Until now.
We are proud to annouce the two newest members of EpiK-Entertainment:
DJ CUBANO
DJ JAYSON GOLD (Formally known as DJ Earcandy)
---------------------------------------------
DJ CUBANO
Armando Cajide also known as DJ Cubano was born in Hialeah, Florida. After a few years, his family moved to Dallas, Texas. As the first Cuban-American generation in the United States, that didn’t hold him back from learning about his families past experiences in Cuba. In addition to his rich heritage, he was also influenced by his Grandfather who had a vast collection of famous classical musicians and composers. Sergio Tandron, was a great inspiration in Armando’s life, teaching him that no goal is ever out of reach, as long as you try.
In his teenage years one of his friends introduced him to a dance radio show every Saturday night, the Edgeclub. He would spend his Saturday nights indoors listening and gaining an understanding of dance music. Armando was inspired by some of the songs played that resembled the same structure as classical music, which he later learned was called Trance. He grew an ear for the genre and quickly fell in love with it. Then, while attending a house party, a good friend of his introduced him to the art of spinning. He would later grow an even greater passion for the art of DJ’ing from regular visits to Turbulant Records. There, DJ Frankie Vega, taught him the technical side of mixing, and gave him the education needed to appreciate all genres of electronic music.
While learning, Armando never intended to become a DJ. Instead, he was just doing what he loved. He spun at house parties while his friends started to cheer him on with, “Cubano!”. The name stuck and DJ Cubano was “born”.
Shortly there after, his career began to take off. While on a trip to Spain, he absorbed the cultures of dance music in other parts of the world. He was eventually offered to play while he was there and he took it to his full advantage. Playing what he knew best and laid down one of the greatest trance sets of his life.
Upon his return to Dallas, it struck him that the trance scene in Dallas was lacking terribly. He saw a group that was pioneering their way through Dallas focusing on bringing, and furthering the trance scene. Epik-Entertainment and their DJ’s inspired him, and he asked if he could help them out. They would later offer him a guest spot to open the night at The Lizard Lounge. Loaded with anticipation he accepted the spot and rocked the decks.
A couple of days after that magnificent night, he was awakened by a tragic phone call. His inspiration, Sergio Tandron, had passed away at the age of 92.
Even though his Grandfather has passed, he is always present in all that Armando does. His words of wisdom about life and music always resound in Armando’s thoughts, as he sets and achieves his goals in life.
Now attending The University of Texas at Arlington, he has been working hard to achieve his degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and to keep pushing his DJ career forward. While having the honor to have guest spots at, Wild 100.3 FM with the Latin House Krew, and being able to play in many various clubs and events, he owes most of his accomplishments to his family and his grandfather. DJ Cubano sees great things with Epik-Entertainment and he can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him.

DJ JAYSON GOLD (Formally known as DJ Earcandy)
Jason Gold, DJ Jayson Gold (formerly known as: DJ Earcandy), currently residing in Dallas, TX, was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina.
Growing up in Durham had its advantages and disadvantages.
One advantage was the major presence of independent thinking and self-_expression. Another benefit was that North Caroline State University had a college radio station that played the grungy industrial music that most of the public despised but the underground listeners loved. Living in a college town with such attributes set Jason on the road to being an open minded individual.
The major disadvantage of the area though was the lack of creative nightlife. Clubs played the top 40 tunes and hip-hop, thus never giving Jason an outlet to explore his music tastes.
Then, in 1994 he had his first true experience with electronic music. While walking up to the gates at Lollapalooza he overheard intoxicating sounds spewing from a vehicle. Jason was urged to ask the strangely dressed kids what they were listening to and they enthusiastically replied, “Orbital”, and journey began.
Before Jason’s senior year in high school his family moved to Dallas, Texas.
After moving to Dallas, Jason quickly found the nightlife to feed his love of electronic music. Every weekend he was at the Lizard Lounge . Jason also frequented other clubs around Dallas, including, Village Station, Club One, and the Spy Club,
During this time, local promoters started pushing the music scene by throwing “raves”. Jason found his home at these events, where the music he loved was fresh, innovative, and being played by DJ’s who catered to an underground audience.
Jason was happy being a loyal partygoer, until he saw a local DJ at the Lizard Lounge, DJ Andy Szontagh. His performance and track selection inspired Jason to purchase records and two turntables.
Still learning, Jason didn’t know what genre, DJ’s and labels embodied the sound that moved him. His first set of records included the DJ Dan EP "In Stereo", and a few jungle records.
It wasn’t until he heard the EpiK-Entertainment crew in 2001, did he find the track selection and sound that represented what he wanted to play. From there on he was inspired to learn more about the technical side of DJ’ing and purchasing the labels that represented the genre that stimulated him. Now days, Jason purchases tracks from labels; Captivating, Platipus, Tsunami, Nukleuz, Tidy, and Massive.
Working hard to promote and establish himself in Dallas, TX, DJ Jayson Gold has spun at venues such as, Village Station, Reservoir, Lizard Lounge, Jack’s Pub, and underground events by local promoters.
In July, 2003, DJ Jayson Gold joined EpiK-Entertainment. Along with furthering himself as an artist, his future plans include going to school to achieve a music production degree to focus on producing.
DJ Jayson Gold his a bright future ahead of him as his skill set and stage performance abilities will take him far.
