oh really? so, its not the same bull we've seen from the NFS series over the last several years? somehow THIS one will be different and better than the crap mate's have forced me to play? |
yeah nfs has sucked since nfs hot pursuit 1 (ONE, not 2) and porsche unleashed :( |

A-Data 800 is what you want. Cheaper, better, overclocks more, and all at stock voltage (mine's at 930, stock volts HAH)
And would wait to see the prices and better reviews of ATi's new (and finally non-sucky) dx10 candy lineup
edit: and rather than the e6400, an e4500 and put that $ difference towards a decent HSF...
i dont see any reason to go e6400 over e4500
only real step up from an e4500 is to go quad core, which at just over 300 now is awesome value |

anywayz, here's what ive found. its not the fastest thing in the universe, but its better than mine and i have 2/3 of this so i can tell you the parts are great.
C2D 6400 $232
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel P965 Express $148
8800 GT 512Mb $352
Corsair 6400 2GB DDR2 RAM 2x XMS2 1GB 800MHz $95
Samsung 200GB 7200rpm Serial ATA HDD $76
Antec 500W ATX power suppply $77
$980
you can look for a new case yourself coz that's a pretty personal choice.
my C2D 6400 is overclocked to 3.2Ghz, so its a top performer alongside the flagships and much cheaper.
you could get a better motherboard if you'd like, but this one won awards and is super solid and is a very reasonable price. all the core 2 duo boards are compatible with the quad processors too if you upgrade again at some stage.
you have a DVD drive you can drop into it?? if not, they're only like $50.
you can also find 2x1 Gb sticks of ram far cheaper than the corsair stuff, but corsair = quality. |
cheers! ill show my dad, if we both put in a bit we could probably get something like that. thanks :)

i'll never join you! (in supcom games until i get a pc like this)
man, i've been watching the lightsaber fights on youtube recently, if only the prequels had more trash talking and dialogue in the fights, they could have been so much better :( |

ive had nothing but spectacular performance from my corsair stuff (tho i dont have any at the minute). but ill take your word for it.

no. anandtech have already said the GT is faster than ATI's latest additions, and ive only had 1 ATI card and i had problems with it. nvidia have never ever concerned me.

roger that; i stopped paying attention to processors after i bought mine. but quad core still isnt worth it. listen to him philbs, a 4500 might do you better... |

yeah but im talking about $/performance.
if it compensates enough through price then it is worth it, all comes down to that, the price.
and also it's direct x 10.1, better performance in AA.
so I'm not saying go and buy ati, but to play the waiting game and see which is better value for money in the end. |
