*cough* i don't own any consoles *cough*

You'd think a game that's 8gb to install would feature more than random beeps for unit sounds wouldn't you. SupCom is okay, I just enjoy Company of Heroes, Dawn of War and Mark of Chaos much, much more. For scale nothing beats it but yeah, not exactly my thing. Kudos to Chris Taylor for remaking TA though lol.

thats why i play with UEF, they have the best sound effects :)

all those other games you mention are indeed top titles (esp CoH), so i will forgive you :p

i have never played a game before where id sit down and watch replays just for the fun of it (as opposed to for learning). supcom's battles, all nicely simulated, just makes for awesome viewing. because no other game simulates, all battles for me now are a little lackluster, no matter how good they supposedly look.

philbs, CnC3 is disappointing even when taking into account my very very low expectations. i was expecting to enjoy a quick blast, love all the pyrotechnics, before getting bored a few days in.

im gonna come back and play some more, but that first game i skirmished just made me yawn like ive never yawned before. cant understand how a 2007 game could be so fundamentally cookie-cut and then sold to unsuspecting idiots the world over.

i really wanted to like this game too :(

It's the generals engine with some dodgy remakes of the orig c&c units tacked on. I played the demo, saw the ion cannon and uninstalled it.

just had a run around in STALKER.

its pretty sweet.

I wouldnt try and run it on anything lower spec'd than my old clunker:

Athlon 64 3200+/ 1gb RAM/ 9800pro

its on low everything and only just scrapes a playable framerate....
Fpcookie
jeez if thats an old clunker idk what mine is...

2800+/9550

i think its time i update

CnC3 tibit from ign review

meaning- "if you like playing the same game you were playing 10 years ago (and you havent aged and grown up in that time) then CnC3 will be good for you"

also from the ign review

Any game is only as good as the interface used to control it and in this area C&C3 excels.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is one of the finest examples of traditional real-time strategy we’ve seen to date.

All cynicism aside, we're glad EA decided to resurrect this classic RTS series because the latest instalment, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, kicks buttock on a grand scale!

when i played the demo it was really fun to be back with c&c. i was a bit dissapointed that it didnt seem to do much overly "new" but there were bits and pieces that showed it wasnt just a complete rehash. i found it fun and exciting to play and enjoyed the characters and videos. i cant say the same about supreme commander. maybe i couldnt get into it far enough because our computer isnt good enough but the whole simulation thing that you are raving about didnt impact on me at all.

pkcRAISTLIN
a complete rehash it is! :p or a rehash plus stolen ideas from "act of war" (a much better game too imo).

hate the whole squads thing too. hey, lets make it look like we have lots of units when in reality we dont. oh, and i got to see some of the projectile "heat seeking" due to pre-determined results. sheesh.

its graphics are ok i guess, but it doesn't do a single thing we havent all seen before. ive been playing games for too long to tolerate that kind've anymore.

im just bitter i dont like it. i was expecting to have fun (give you a bit of obviously) but at least have a laugh.

CoH s all over CnC3 for small, squad-based combat. oh, and the virtual cut and paste from battle for middle earth makes the game feel even more dated. but im sure the 10 year olds around the world dont mind :p
ONION
No point trying to reinvent the wheel. Its like when producers go out of their way to be different without any consideration of whether the track actually sounds good. To me SupCom's a borefest and although it may provide homos something 'unique' in its style of play, it doesn't necessarily equate to being fun. [subjective matter ofcourse]

The other thing is - You dont go to Bar20 for their drinks. You know what youre getting as soon as you walk through the door. CNC3 is no different. I dont want to have to ing play Simcity in order to play an RTS game.
