| well basically you have strategists who will play supcom, then you have tech-tree memorists who will play CnC3. one likes the simulated environment where results are never guaranteed, the other doesnt even realise theres actually no war being carried on at all :p each to their own. |

| off! "tech-tree memorists", what happens in supcom? you instantly have access to every weapon? or do you have a tech1 engineer? who builds tech 1 buildings? which create tech1 units? then you upgrade your buildings to tech2? which create tech2 units? then you get tech2 engineers? then you upgrade to tech3? and build tech3 buildings and tech3 units? |

meaning- every RTS ive played has come down to memorising the fastest way to produce unit X and use the tactics for said unit. the tactical variables are too many and varied for the game to become another WC3 exercise in unit upgrading. CnC3 will be the same. im not saying that makes it a bad game, just that im over the tried-and-tested habits ive been experiencing this century.
say what you like about the game, but there isnt a single RTS available (perhaps TA im not sure) that allows the same number of tactics that supcom does.
playing something like WC3, my build orders were exactly the same each and every game. when i played online id always fight against the blademaster if playing orcs. it just got boring from a variety point of view. there are just soooo many ways to play in supcom, and i love that. youre never too sure whats gonna happen or what youre gonna do. brilliant. |

well i hope you make sweet sweet love to it mate! there need to be more crossover multiplayer games between consoles and PCs :) |
Doesn't XBOX360 and Win Vista allow you to do that across their new LIVE thingy? Or at least that's the plan for the near future. |

Shhh, don't ruin the story. I've still got 2 more starmaps to find, even though it's inevitable that you fight him and I do know that Bastila becomes evil later on (sort of). Still though, if she was a real character I would marry her :tongue2 |

| are you playing as a male or female? |

| Male of course. Apparently if you play as a female, then the romance heads towards Carth. |

| Lol strategy games are all the same, only thing SupCom has different is the number of units (many of which have exact copies with different art for all 3 races as far as I can tell), and scale. I bought the game so I'm not saying it's total e, but it seems far too sterile and impersonal, especially considering the sounds are almost identical to TA from what I remember. I much prefer Company of Heroes, the Dawn of War stuff and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. SupCom is fun when you want to build some stupidly large experimental weapon (Monkeylord anyone?) and romp the enemy base. Aside from that I was let down slightly. Oh well. |

Yea I've read alot of reviews and that's one of the major negatives that everyone gives. It just feels way too sterile and impersonal. Still gets good reviews though so I'll have to check it out. Apparently the story is pretty weak at the best of times too, and I don't like games with stories.
That's why I can't wait for C&C3. Story in that should be tops :D |
